Congress MP Chiefs Brother Arrested in Drug Supply Case In a major development Indore Police has arrested Kulbhushan also known as Nana Patwari the younger brother of Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari. Police say the arrest is linked to a drug supply investigation after an accused reportedly mentioned his name during questioning. Following the arrest Rajendra Nagar Police took him to an undisclosed location for further investigation. Congress leaders have called the action politically motivated and accused the government of targeting opposition voices. Senior lawyer and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha also expressed concern saying such actions could create serious situations in the future. BJP MLA Vows to Walk Barefoot Until Roads Are Built BJP MLA Ghanshyam Chandravanshi has made a unique promise saying he will not wear shoes or slippers until roads in his Kalapipal constituency are completed. He made the announcement during a public event attended by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. Responding to the statement the Chief Minister assured that the roads would be constructed and said there was no need for the MLA to give up wearing footwear. Nitin Gadkari Inspects Expressway with 19-Vehicle Convoy Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari visited Madhya Pradesh to inspect the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. During the visit he briefly stopped at the Ratlam district border and discussed the eight-lane project with district officials. After a short interaction he continued his journey with a convoy of 19 vehicles. Gadkari did not stop elsewhere in Ratlam district and no local BJP leaders were reported to have met him during the visit. First Nomination Filed for Datia By-Election The Datia Assembly by-election has seen its first official nomination. Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram) candidate Damodar Singh Yadav submitted his nomination papers at the district office along with his brother Keshav Yadav. He will contest the election on the partys “Kettle” symbol. Election officials have begun the nomination process and more candidates are expected to file their papers in the coming days. The by-election is attracting attention from major political parties making it an important contest in the region. 24000 Patwaris Announce Work Boycott Before Assembly Session Around 24000 Patwaris across Madhya Pradesh have announced a three-day mass leave beginning July 15 leading to a five-day work disruption. The decision comes just before the state Assembly session. Patwaris are demanding salary revision cadre review promotions and other service-related benefits. A state-level meeting is scheduled in Bhopal on July 12 to discuss future strategy. Officials have also started submitting memorandums addressed to the Chief Minister through district collectors. Heavy Rain Alert for Gwalior-Chambal Region Red Alert in Bhind The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for the Gwalior-Chambal region of Madhya Pradesh. Bhind district is under a red alert while Gwalior Morena Datia Shivpuri and nearby areas are likely to receive intense rainfall. Weather officials have also predicted heavy showers in parts of the Ujjain and Sagar divisions.
