Sagar Toxic Liquor Horror: Death Toll Rises to 22 The death toll in the Sagar toxic liquor tragedy has risen to 22. A father and his son are also among the victims. Around 112 people fell ill after drinking the suspected toxic liquor. They are being treated in hospitals in Sagar and Bhopal. Police have registered FIRs against 30 people including liquor contractors. So far 10 people have been arrested. The incident has raised serious questions about the sale of illegal and unsafe liquor in the state. The investigation is continuing while officials are trying to find those responsible for the tragedy. Umang Singhar Attacks MP Govt Over Liquor Deaths Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has strongly attacked the Madhya Pradesh government over the toxic liquor deaths in Sagar. He alleged that people are continuously dying in the state and responsible officials are trying to protect distillery owners. Singhar made a strong political statement saying that after Pakistan Hindus are unsafe in Madhya Pradesh. His remarks have created a political controversy. The government has not yet responded to all his allegations. The toxic liquor tragedy has become a major political issue with the opposition demanding strict action against everyone responsible for the deaths. Intern Doctors Stopped Near CM House in Bhopal Intern doctors of Hamidia Hospital protested in Bhopal demanding an increase in their stipend. They marched towards the Chief Ministers residence to hold a protest. Police stopped them around 200 metres before the CM House. Water cannons were used to control the protesters and a clash took place between police and the doctors. One student was injured after being hit by the water cannon. The protesting doctors alleged that police used force and carried out a lathi charge. The doctors continued their protest and demanded that the government increase their stipend soon. High Court Hears Bhopal Sealing Cases The Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court heard several pending cases related to sealing action in Bhopal. Justice Vishal Mishra heard around 40 cases on Monday. The remaining cases will be heard on Tuesday from 2:30 PM. During the hearing the court also discussed matters related to the Upper Lake Bhoj Wetland and illegal constructions identified near the lake by the municipal corporation. The cases are connected to business activities in residential areas and sealing action in Bhopal. The hearing is expected to continue as more petitioners present their arguments before the court. Attempt to Set Bhopal Mayors Car on Fire An attempt was made to set Bhopal Mayor Malti Rais official car on fire on Monday. The car was parked at the municipal corporation headquarters. A daily wage employee allegedly placed a plastic bag filled with papers on the car roof and set it on fire. Nearby employees quickly rushed to control the flames. The incident happened at around 2:45 PM while the mayor was in her office. The employee identified as Sunil Gaikwad was reportedly demanding regular employment. He allegedly created a disturbance before the incident. Officials are investigating the matter and taking further action. Tatarstan Shows Interest in Investing in MP The Russian Republic of Tatarstan has shown interest in investing in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav met Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnikhanov in Dubai and discussed investment opportunities. The Chief Minister also invited him to attend the upcoming Global Investors Summit. The Tatarstan leader agreed to visit Madhya Pradesh with an investors delegation. Both sides discussed ways to increase investment and business cooperation. The meeting is seen as an important step towards attracting foreign investment to the state. Madhya Pradesh hopes that the proposed investment will create new business opportunities and jobs. Baba Mahakal Takes Out Grand Procession in Ujjain On the second Monday of the Bhadau month Baba Mahakal took out a grand procession in Ujjain. Devotees are getting the darshan of Lord Mahakal in six different forms. Shri Chandramauleshwar is seated in a silver palanquin while Manmahesh is riding an elephant. Shiv Tandav is on the Garuda Rath and Umamahesh is on the Nandi Rath. Two separate chariots are also carrying the Holkar State Mukharbind and Saptadhan Mukharbind. Thousands of devotees gathered to watch the grand procession and seek the blessings of Baba Mahakal. Deputy Collectors Mother Dies After Tree Falls on Cars A major accident took place in Indore on Monday evening during heavy rain. A large tree fell on moving cars near the Central Jail. The mother of Deputy Collector Purnima Singhi died in the accident. Two other people were injured and admitted to Gokuldas Hospital. The deceased was identified as 75-year-old Radha Devi Singhi. She was returning after a cataract operation when the accident happened. Her grandson Prakhar Singhi and family friend Vaishali Jaiswal were also injured. The accident caused panic in the area as heavy rain and strong winds affected the city. MP Weather: Rain and Thunderstorm Alert Continues Madhya Pradesh may continue to witness changing weather conditions. The Meteorological Department has forecast rain and thunderstorms in several parts of the state. Heavy rain is possible at isolated places especially in eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh. People are advised to stay alert during thunderstorms and lightning. Rain may continue in some areas over the next few days while temperatures are expected to remain around 29 to 31 degrees Celsius. Citizens should avoid standing under trees during strong winds and lightning. The weather department has advised people to follow official warnings and take necessary precautions.
