Big Promotion Relief for 15000 Employees: CPCT Won’t Block Promotions Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the CPCT examination will not become a hurdle in the promotion of government employees. He has directed officials to take a positive decision on the issue. The decision is expected to open the way for the promotion of around 15000 Class IV employees. Employee organizations have been demanding the removal of this condition for a long time. The state government is now preparing necessary changes in the promotion process. Employees are expected to get major relief once the changes are approved. The move could benefit thousands of government workers. Bhopal to Witness Grand Tricolor Boat Rally Bhopal will witness a grand Tricolor Boat Rally on August 13 as part of Independence Day celebrations. The event will begin at 11 AM from the Boat Club at Upper Lake. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will attend the event as the chief guest. Hundreds of boats decorated with the Tricolor will take part in the rally. Thousands of patriotic citizens are also expected to join the event. Cooperation Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang said the Upper Lake will present a beautiful view with the Tricolor. The rally is being organized following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for nationwide Tricolor celebrations. EOW Raid on Forest Department Clerk The Economic Offences Wing or EOW conducted a raid at the house of a Forest Department clerk in Mandla on Wednesday morning. The clerk Shwetank Chaurasia had received a compassionate appointment around 20 years ago. According to the EOW properties worth around 2.48 crore rupees have been found so far. Officials estimate his legal income at around 55 to 60 lakh rupees. The agency says the assets found are several times higher than his known income. The EOW is investigating the case and checking documents and other properties linked to the clerk. Further details are expected after the investigation. Betting King Satish Sanpal’s Petitions Rejected by High Court The Madhya Pradesh High Court has rejected petitions filed by alleged betting king Satish Sanpal. Police have issued a lookout notice against Sanpal who is reportedly living in Dubai. He had sought relief from the court in connection with criminal cases registered against him. Sanpal had also requested permission to present his side through video conference. However the High Court rejected his petitions seeking cancellation of the criminal cases. The development is a setback for Sanpal who has been seeking legal relief. Police are continuing their action in connection with the cases registered against him. Bhojshala Case Hearing Deferred Again The hearing in the Bhojshala case of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh could not take place in the Supreme Court on Wednesday. The petitions have been filed by the Muslim side in connection with the historic Bhojshala site. The hearing was earlier scheduled for August 5 but it was postponed. The court had then fixed August 12 as the next date. However the proceedings could not move forward on Wednesday as well. The case will now be heard on another date. The matter remains important as both sides are waiting for further proceedings in the Supreme Court. Bank Employees Demand Five-Day Work Week Bank employees in Bhopal staged a protest on Wednesday demanding a five-day working week. Employees gathered outside the Punjab National Bank Zonal Office in Arera Hills in the evening. They raised slogans in support of their demand and also held a meeting. Union leaders said that bank employees should get a five-day working week like many other sectors. They warned that if the central government does not accept the demand soon employees may go on an indefinite strike. The protest is part of the ongoing demand for better working arrangements for bank employees across the country. Action Against Analog Paneer in Indore The Food Safety Department has started action against analog paneer in Madhya Pradesh following Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s directions. On Wednesday a team inspected Umapati Industries in Palda Indore. The unit was found making and packing low-fat paneer. During the inspection officials found several issues related to food safety standards. The team seized around 450 kilograms of paneer from the unit. Its estimated value is around 1.17 lakh rupees. Officials said further action will be taken after checking the samples and documents. The government has directed departments to take strict action against unsafe or banned food products. Eight Children Die from Mysterious Illness Eight children have died in tribal areas of Balaghat district due to a mysterious illness since June 26. Doctors from Jabalpur Medical College and Balaghat visited the affected areas to investigate the deaths. However the exact cause of the illness is still not known. Doctors found symptoms such as pneumonia anemia dehydration fever itching malaria and kidney-related problems in some children. Samples have been sent to a laboratory in Pune for testing. Officials say the exact cause can be confirmed only after the reports arrive. Health teams are monitoring the situation and providing treatment to affected children. Flood-Like Situation in Several MP Districts Continuous heavy rain has created flood-like conditions in several districts of Madhya Pradesh. In Shajapur a young man was swept away by a strong water current. Schools have been ordered to remain closed in Bhopal and three other districts. Khargone recorded around 8.1 inches of rainfall while a heavy rain alert has been issued for five districts. Several rivers and streams are flowing above normal levels. Low-lying areas are also facing waterlogging. Administration and rescue teams are working in affected areas. Authorities have advised people to remain alert and avoid going near flooded rivers and waterlogged areas.
