During Friday’s hearing Chief Justice Surya Kant questioned the delay in giving prosecution approval and told the state government to follow court orders immediately. The court rejected arguments that the minister’s statement was misunderstood. Judges said an experienced politician knows how to respectfully praise a woman officer. Referring to the SIT report the court also observed that the minister appears to have a habit of making such comments. The matter has now become a major political controversy in Madhya Pradesh. Tribal Farmers Protest Outside SP Office in Panna Vikrant Bhuria staged a protest outside the SP office in Panna on Friday. Hundreds of tribal farmers joined the sit-in against the arrest of villagers linked to the Ken-Betwa and Runj projects. The protesters said many families may lose their land forests and homes because of the projects. Farmers demanded the immediate release of arrested villagers and proper rehabilitation for affected families. The protest continued for more than three hours outside the police office. Demonstrators raised slogans and accused the administration of ignoring tribal rights. Police remained deployed in the area to maintain security and prevent tension. Indore Hospitals Under Fire Over Safety Lapses The Madhya Pradesh High Court has raised serious concerns over fire safety arrangements in hospitals in Indore. During a hearing on Friday the court asked the state government and private hospital managements to explain why many large hospitals are operating without proper fire safety systems. A woman was found dead inside a locked room with her hands and legs tied using cloth. Police said cloth was also stuffed into her mouth to stop her from screaming. The woman had shifted to the house only six days ago. Household items were found scattered inside the room raising suspicion of a struggle before the murder. Police reached the spot after receiving information from local residents. A forensic team collected fingerprints and other evidence from the room. Officers believe the killers may soon be identified through fingerprint investigation. The case is under investigation.
