Pachmarhi Town Separated from Sanctuary The Mohan Cabinet has approved the proposal to separate Pachmarhi town from the Pachmarhi Wildlife Sanctuary. This decision was taken in line with the directions of the Supreme Court. Earlier also the cabinet had cleared a similar proposal but due to technical mistakes and errors in mapping the process could not be completed. In the revised proposal the Forest Department clearly marked rivers streams and essential areas outside the sanctuary limits. Along with this development projects worth 390 crore rupees in the buffer zone of the Tiger Reserve have also been approved. These projects will be implemented strictly as per Supreme Court guidelines. The decision is expected to help planned development in Pachmarhi town. Congress Protests Over Cow Slaughter in Bhopal Congress workers staged a protest in Bhopal against alleged cow slaughter incidents in the city. The protest took place near Habibganj police station from where workers tried to march towards the RSS office Samidha. Police stopped the protesters before they could reach the office. Former district Congress president Monu Saxena accused the BJP and RSS of remaining silent on cow slaughter despite claiming to protect Hindu values. He said cow killings are happening in Bhopal but no strong action is being taken. Congress leaders submitted a memorandum addressed to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat warning of citywide protests and cow conferences if strict action is not taken. Bank Employees Strike for 5-Day Work Week Around eight lakh bank employees across the country raised their voice for a five-day banking week. In Madhya Pradesh alone nearly 40000 bank employees went on strike affecting work in more than 7000 bank branches. Due to the strike transactions worth crores of rupees were impacted. The protest was organized under the banner of the United Forum of Bank Unions. Demonstrations were held in cities like Bhopal Indore Ujjain Jabalpur and Gwalior. Bank employees are demanding the immediate implementation of a five-day work week as promised in the agreement signed on 8 March 2024. They warned of stronger protests if demands are ignored. Extortion and Violence at Bhopal Grocery Shop Incidents of crime are increasing in Bhopal’s Karond area. In the Nishatpura locality a grocery shop owner Nitesh Saini was attacked by Kuldeep Singh and his three associates. The accused demanded 1000 rupees for liquor as extortion money. When the shopkeeper refused the attackers entered the shop assaulted him with sticks and injured his head. They also damaged the fridge and showcase inside the shop. Police have registered a case against all four named accused and started a search operation. The incident has created fear among local traders who are demanding stricter police action and better security in the area. Bike Stunt for Social Media Ends in Police Action Despite repeated warnings from the police dangerous bike stunts continue on city roads. In Jabalpur Ranjhi police caught a young man named Kabir who was performing risky bike stunts after modifying his motorcycle. He uploaded stunt videos on social media to gain likes and views which he admitted also helped him earn money. Police took action under traffic rules issued a challan and removed illegal modified parts from the bike. After the action Kabir apologized and promised not to repeat such acts. On the instructions of SP Sampat Upadhyay police teams are closely monitoring illegal racing stunts and reckless driving to prevent accidents. Students’ Deaths Raise Concern Over Academic Pressure Two tragic incidents in Madhya Pradesh have raised serious concerns about pressure on students. In Bhind district’s Alampur area a school student left home after being scolded by his father over studies. His body was later found hanging from a tree. The boy’s parents work as street food vendors in Gujarat and had recently returned home. In another incident in Jabalpur a 9th-class girl died by suicide after consuming poison. These heartbreaking cases highlight the mental stress faced by children due to academic pressure. Experts and locals are urging parents to communicate better with children and focus on emotional support rather than strict discipline. Mobile Court Launched in Jabalpur A new initiative called “Justice at Your Doorstep” has been launched in Madhya Pradesh to make the justice system more accessible. The mobile court bus started its journey from Jabalpur. This mobile court will help resolve cases related to municipal taxes encroachments and other civic disputes by reaching people directly. The bus was flagged off on Republic Day by High Court Chief Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva. Several judges the municipal commissioner and the mayor were present at the event. The initiative aims to provide quick and affordable justice reduce case pendency and save citizens from long legal procedures. Protest in Ujjain Over Shankaracharya Dispute The controversy involving Shankaracharya Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati during the Magh Mela has sparked protests in many cities. In Chandeli village farmers led by MS Mewada sat in the middle of wheat fields and sang devotional songs. Using dholak harmonium and cymbals they performed bhajans while raising their demands. Through this symbolic protest farmers appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce farmer-friendly decisions in the upcoming Union Budget. Fog was also seen in several places during early morning hours affecting road visibility. In eastern and southern districts light rain or drizzle is expected in the next 24 hours.
