Bhopal Master Plan 2047: Business Barred in Residential Areas The draft of Bhopal Master Plan 2047 was released on Saturday. The city has been planned for a population of 45 lakh people. The plan proposes an AI-based EKAI City in Bhauri a 123.62-kilometre metro network a new 51-kilometre bypass and a growth corridor spread over nearly 3000 hectares. Business activities will be restricted in residential areas. The draft focuses on better connectivity housing jobs and environmental protection. It also proposes green TDR connecting private CCTV cameras with the police network and promoting affordable and rental housing. The plan also focuses on increasing parking facilities Old Bhopal and slum redevelopment. CM Mohan Yadav Reaches Indore Programme Changed Suddenly Chief Minister Mohan Yadav reached Indore on Saturday evening. Three programmes had been planned for his visit but his schedule suddenly changed after he reached the city. The Chief Minister first visited the RSS office ‘Sudarshan’ in Pant Vaidya Colony. He met RSS office-bearers and also visited an exhibition called ‘Anubhavshala’ at the office. CM Yadav stayed there for around 30 minutes. Another point that attracted attention was that the Chief Minister reached the RSS office with a convoy of only three vehicles. Details of his other programmes were also changed after his arrival in Indore. Identifying Real and Fake Evidence Is a Major Challenge A two-day regional judicial conference began in Gwalior on Saturday. The conference was organised by the Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy. During the opening session Supreme Court Judge Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra said that delivering justice is not only about knowing the sections of law. Judges must also understand the people who come to court seeking justice and the real situations they face. He said that simply knowing something is abstract while understanding it means using that knowledge in a practical way. The conference discussed challenges faced by the judiciary including the need to identify real and fake evidence during legal proceedings. Man Arrested for Threatening to Kill CM Mohan Yadav A man has been arrested for allegedly threatening to kill Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. The incident created concern among the police and security agencies. According to the police the accused is a resident of Burhanpur. He allegedly sent a threatening message through Dial-112 saying that he would kill the Chief Minister. During questioning police found that the accused wanted his father to be arrested in a case. Police said he sent the threatening message for this reason. The accused has been arrested and further investigation is underway to understand the circumstances behind the threat. Rules Changed for Urban Local Body Elections The Madhya Pradesh government has increased the security deposit required for people contesting urban local body elections. Candidates contesting for mayor municipal council president and councillor posts will now have to deposit more money. Ahead of next year’s urban local body elections the security deposit for a mayoral candidate has been increased to ₹32000. Candidates contesting for the post of municipal council president will have to deposit ₹24000. The changes have been announced before the elections. Candidates will have to meet the new financial requirements while filing their nomination papers for the upcoming urban local body elections. Drugs Worth ₹3.5 Crore Seized in Bhopal The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence or DRI has seized 4.38 kilograms of amphetamine in Bhopal. The drug is estimated to be worth around ₹3.5 crore in the international market. Two alleged drug smugglers including a Nigerian woman have been arrested in connection with the case. The action was carried out on September 23 and 24 at different locations in Bhopal including Rani Kamlapati Railway Station. Officials are investigating the source of the drugs and their intended destination. Further questioning of the arrested suspects is expected to provide more information about the drug network. Four Killed After Electric Wire Falls on Ganesh Pandal Four people died after an electric wire fell on a Ganesh festival pandal in Mandla district on Saturday morning. The incident took place in Hirapur village in the Nainpur area. According to the information available some young men were sleeping inside the pandal when the electric wire suddenly fell on it. The fallen wire caused an electric current to spread through the pandal. Four people died in the incident while three others were injured. One of the injured people is reported to be in serious condition and was shifted to the district hospital for treatment. Rain and Thunderstorms Likely in Several Areas Weather conditions in Madhya Pradesh are expected to remain partly cloudy in several areas. Rain and thunderstorms are possible in many parts of the state. In Bhopal the temperature is expected to remain around 30°C during the day with chances of thunderstorms. Jabalpur may receive moderate rain with temperatures around 29°C. Ujjain may see partly cloudy weather with a chance of rain or thunderstorms while the maximum temperature may remain around 33°C. People are advised to remain alert during thunderstorms and follow local weather updates.
