CM Targets Congress Over Rahul Gandhi’s Indore Event Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has targeted the Congress over Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students Ki Goonj’ event in Indore. Speaking in Dewas Yadav alleged that Congress leaders say money should not be given to women because they spend it on alcohol. He said Congress should look at its own record. Yadav also called the Indore event the “echo of lies”. He claimed that during the Congress government 16 percent of children left school and many primary school children did not attend classes. He said the dropout figure is now zero percent in the state. Chandrashekhar Appointed MP BJP General Secretary The Madhya Pradesh BJP has got a new state organisation general secretary after around eight months. Chandrashekhar has been appointed to the post by the BJP’s central organisation. His headquarters will be in Bhopal. He will work with state BJP president Hemant Khandelwal and handle key organisational responsibilities. The post had remained vacant since January. During this period regional organisation secretary Ajay Jamwal was looking after organisational work in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. With Chandrashekhar’s appointment the party has made a full-time appointment to the important post after around 236 days. Teachers May Get Salary Hike of Up to Rs 20000 Around 70000 teachers in Madhya Pradesh may benefit from a recent Jabalpur High Court order. The court has directed the state government to implement an order related to counting teachers’ service from the date of their first appointment. This could affect their seniority salary increments pension and other benefits. According to the information teachers may see a salary increase of around Rs 15000 to Rs 20000. The order could also open the way for payment of arrears for up to 10 years. The government has been given four weeks to comply with the court’s direction. Questions Raised Over Conditions in Government Schools Questions have been raised over basic facilities in government schools across Madhya Pradesh. CJP held a press conference in Bhopal under its ‘Fix the Schools’ campaign. The organisation claimed that its team visited government schools in several districts including Damoh Chhatarpur Raisen Narsinghpur Gwalior Bhind Balaghat Seoni and Bhopal. The team claimed that some schools lacked proper buildings electricity drinking water toilets and boundary walls. It also said that photographs and videos were collected during the assessment. The organisation has demanded action to improve basic facilities in government schools. MLA Seeks White Paper on Baiga Children’s Deaths Congress MLA Sanjay Uikey has demanded a white paper from the Madhya Pradesh government over the deaths of Baiga children in the Baihar area of Balaghat district. Uikey claimed that 43 children died in the assembly constituency within five months. He said financial assistance was provided to the families of only 28 deceased children. The MLA has demanded immediate assistance for the remaining 15 families. He has also sought an official white paper to provide clear information about the deaths and the assistance given to affected families. Video of Woman Officer Counting Cash Surfaces A video showing a woman officer counting cash has surfaced in Niwari district of Madhya Pradesh. The woman has been identified as Manisha Jha an administrator at the One Stop Centre and a clerk at the district office. Allegations have been made that the money was linked to the appointment of Anganwadi workers and helpers. Another video involving a Women and Child Development project officer in Prithvipur has also reportedly surfaced. The administration has said that the allegations will be investigated. The department has also issued a show-cause notice to Manisha Jha. Heavy Rain Alert in Madhya Pradesh A strong weather system is active over Madhya Pradesh ahead of the withdrawal of the monsoon. The impact is expected to increase on September 25 and 26. Heavy to extremely heavy rain has been forecast in several districts of eastern Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday heavy rain is expected in around 10 districts. The state has received an average of 34.3 inches of rain so far this monsoon season. This is around 91.9 percent of the seasonal rainfall target. Weather officials have advised people in affected areas to remain alert as heavy rain may continue in the coming days
