“Rahul Gandhi Has Become Old”: Uma Bharti Takes a Sharp Dig Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Uma Bharti took a sharp dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited Uma Bharti at her government residence in Bhopal. The two leaders held a closed-door meeting for around 40 minutes. After the meeting Uma Bharti was asked about Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Goonj’ programme in Indore which was reportedly not given permission. She said Rahul Gandhi had himself become old and questioned why he was still being called young. Uma Bharti said that at this age people can have grandchildren. She also said that young people would consider Prime Minister Narendra Modi their leader not Rahul Gandhi. CM Mohan Yadav to Give E-Scooters to Meritorious Students Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will distribute e-scooters to meritorious students on September 19. The programme will be held in Bhopal under the Chief Minister Scooty Scheme. Students who performed very well in Class 12 in government higher secondary schools will receive the benefit. The state-level programme will begin at 10 AM at Government Subhash Excellence Higher Secondary School in Shivaji Nagar Bhopal. The government says the scheme will help students continue their higher education. The e-scooters will also make daily travel between home and college easier for the students. The programme is expected to benefit many meritorious students across Madhya Pradesh. CM Reviews Preparations for Seva-Sankalp Campaign Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reviewed preparations for the Seva-Sankalp Campaign in Madhya Pradesh. The campaign will run from September 17 to October 17. The Chief Minister said the campaign should have maximum public participation in villages and cities. He said people across the state should light lamps on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17. The aim is also to create a world record through the large-scale lamp lighting programme. Dr. Yadav said the campaign represents service and responsibility. He also announced a state-level Human Rangoli programme in Jabalpur under the ‘Seva Ke Rang Rashtra Ke Sang’ event. The Chief Minister gave these instructions during a meeting at Samatva Bhawan. Arrest Warrants Issued Against Two MP IAS Officers The Jabalpur High Court has issued arrest warrants against two senior IAS officers from Madhya Pradesh. The officers are former Revenue Principal Secretary Vivek Porwal and former Sagar Collector Sandeep G R. The court has directed both officers to appear before it on September 21 2026. The case is related to the regularisation of Sheela Sen a Section Officer in the Sagar Collector’s office. The court had earlier ordered that a decision on her regularisation claim should be taken within 90 days. However the court did not receive the required compliance report. The court has now taken action against the two officers. The warrants will be served by the Bhopal Police Commissioner and Sagar Superintendent of Police. Minister Attacks Digvijaya Singh Calls Him ‘Tweet Master’ Madhya Pradesh minister Govind Singh Rajput attacked former Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh on Monday. Rajput visited Bundelkhand Medical College in Sagar to meet people who fell ill after consuming suspected poisonous liquor in Banda. During his visit he criticised Digvijaya Singh for his political statements on social media. Rajput said Digvijaya Singh is not taken seriously by his party and its high command. He accused him of making statements and posting tweets to remain in the political news. Rajput called him a ‘Tweet Master’. He also compared Digvijaya Singh to a beehive without honey saying that both the honey and bees were gone leaving only the hive. Food Safety Team Inspects 3 Bhopal Eateries The Food Safety and Drug Administration team inspected three major hotels and restaurants in Bhopal on Monday. The places checked were Hotel Ranjeet Lake View Babu Ki Kutia and Sagar Gaire Restaurant. The team found some problems related to cleanliness and food safety. At Hotel Ranjeet Lake View overall cleanliness was found to be good and workers were wearing caps and aprons. However open dustbins were found at the hotel. The drainage system was also not proper and a frying pan was found black. The team collected samples of black pepper and gravy from the establishments. The samples have been sent for testing. Officials also directed the operators to improve the hygiene conditions. Villagers Carry Body Through Muddy Road in Chhindwara A disturbing situation has come to light from Bandhan Mal village in the Bichhua area of Chhindwara district. During the rainy season villagers have to walk through a muddy and waterlogged road to reach the cremation ground. The distance is around one to one-and-a-half kilometres. A video of a funeral procession has surfaced on social media. It shows villagers carrying a body on their shoulders while walking through deep mud. In some places their feet can be seen sinking into the muddy road. The poor condition of the road is creating serious problems for villagers especially during the rainy season. The situation has raised questions about basic facilities in the village. 5.51 Lakh Modaks Offered at Mahakal Temple Ganesh Chaturthi was celebrated with great enthusiasm across Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Ganesh idols were installed in several cities including Indore Ujjain Gwalior Betul Satna Sehore Tikamgarh and Mandsaur. Temples markets and public pandals witnessed large crowds of devotees. At the Siddhivinayak Temple inside the Mahakal Temple complex in Ujjain Lord Ganesha was offered 5.51 lakh modaks. The special celebration included Panchamrit worship Abhishek and traditional decoration of the idol. A Maha Aarti was also performed after the rituals. Devotees gathered in large numbers to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha and celebrate the festival with religious fervour across the state. Rain Continues in Several Areas Madhya Pradesh is likely to see cloudy weather and rain in several parts of the state. On Monday September 14 thunderstorms and rain are possible in some areas. The weather will remain humid. The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow watch for heavy rain thunderstorm lightning and strong winds in some districts including Raisen Ujjain Ratlam Mandsaur Neemuch Rajgarh Guna and Narmadapuram. Bhopal is also expected to see rain and cloudy conditions. Indore may receive showers while Jabalpur is also likely to get rain. People are advised to remain careful during thunderstorms and avoid open areas during lightning.
