MP Enforces UGC Grievance Rules The Madhya Pradesh government has issued an important order for higher education institutions. The state will strictly implement the UGC Students’ Grievance Redressal Regulations 2023. All government and private universities and colleges must appoint an active Ombudsperson. The Ombudsperson’s decisions will be binding on institutions not just symbolic. The Higher Education Department said student complaints must be resolved in a time-bound transparent and fair manner. If a complaint is found to be false or baseless action can also be taken against the student. The order applies to all institutions under the Private University Regulatory Commission. The move aims to protect students’ rights and improve accountability. MP Government to Register Tribal Plots Free The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved free registration of residential plots for 25602 tribal families displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Project. The government will bear the full cost of registration estimated at ₹600 crore. These families had received land allotment letters earlier but registration was never done. The decision covers eight विधानसभा constituencies across four districts. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired the cabinet meeting where the long-pending demand was cleared. The cabinet also approved the Dhanwahi and Barhi irrigation projects and extended several government schemes from 2026–27 to 2030–31. The move is seen as major relief for tribal communities. CM Mohan Yadav praises Union Budget Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has praised the Union Budget calling it a welfare-oriented and future-focused budget. Speaking in Bhopal he said the Centre and Madhya Pradesh budgets move with the same vision and spirit. The Chief Minister stated that the budget will have long-term positive impact on development and employment. He highlighted support for farmers youth women and infrastructure. According to him the budget aligns well with Madhya Pradesh’s development roadmap. Dr. Yadav said coordinated planning between the Centre and the state will accelerate growth and improve public services. He described the budget as inclusive and growth-driven for all sections of society. Attempted Rape Woman Murdered in Raisen A shocking crime was reported from Bhartipur village in Raisen district. A 21-year-old woman was killed after resisting an attempted rape. She was on her way to deliver food to her brother working in the fields when a village youth stopped her. On protest the accused attacked her with a sharp weapon killing her on the spot. After the crime villagers caught the accused and assaulted him severely. He later died during treatment. Police said the incident occurred in Sultanpur police station area. The case has created panic and anger in the village. Police are investigating all aspects of the incident. Dalit Youth Humiliated in Morena An inhuman incident has come to light from Morena district. A Dalit youth was allegedly assaulted and humiliated over a money dispute. The accused forced him to act like a rooster slapped him and made obscene gestures. The incident took place in the Ambah police station area where the victim lived on rent in the accused’s locality. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media triggering outrage. After the video surfaced police started an investigation and assured strict action. The incident has raised serious concerns over caste-based violence and human dignity in the region. Lawyers Assault Rape Accused in Bhopal Court Chaos broke out in the Bhopal District Court when lawyers assaulted a rape and blackmailing accused. Police had brought the accused involved in a Class 11 student rape case for court production. As soon as he arrived lawyers surrounded him and started beating him. The situation escalated into scuffles between police personnel and lawyers. Videos of the incident dated February 2 have surfaced online. Police somehow managed to control the situation and ensure security. The incident has raised questions about courtroom safety and law enforcement. Authorities are reviewing the footage to identify those involved in the violence. Major Accident on NH-45 A major road accident occurred on National Highway-45 on Tuesday. In Shahpura police station area a Hyva truck fell from an overbridge onto a car moving on the service road below. The truck driver died on the spot while five people travelling in the car were injured. Police rushed to the scene and started a rescue operation. The injured were pulled out of the damaged car and shifted to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Traffic was affected for some time due to the accident. Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Lightning Kills Farmer in Shivpuri Due to an active western disturbance several parts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed rain hailstorms strong winds and lightning. In Shivpuri district lightning struck a hut killing a farmer who was inside. He was reportedly burnt alive in the incident. Hailstorms were reported in Gwalior and Mandsaur causing damage to crops. Rainfall was recorded in Bhopal Bhind Chhatarpur Rajgarh Agar-Malwa and Guna. Farmers have expressed concern over crop losses. Weather officials said unstable conditions may continue in some areas. Local administrations are assessing damage and relief measures.
