- Veteran Actor Nana Patekar Dies at 75 After Cardiac Arrest Veteran Bollywood actor Nana Patekar has reportedly died at the age of 75. He passed away on Thursday morning at his home in Goa. According to the report he suffered a cardiac arrest. Doctors reportedly gave him CPR for around 45 minutes but he could not be saved. Dr. Shekhar Salkar of Manipal Hospital said that Nana Patekar died at around 5:20 AM. The news of his death has shocked the film industry and his fans. Nana Patekar was known for his powerful acting and memorable roles in Hindi cinema. His contribution to Indian films was widely appreciated. ------- FIR Storm Hits Rahul-Priyanka as INDIA Bloc Protest Continues Opposition parties will hold a protest in Delhi for the third straight day against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the SIR process. Meanwhile an FIR has been registered against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi over alleged manhandling of Delhi Police personnel during a protest at Jantar Mantar. Delhi Police said three FIRs have been registered and both leaders have been named. Earlier an FIR was filed over the alleged entry into the Akashvani building during a march on September 6. Rahul Gandhi had said he was not afraid of FIRs. Rahul and other INDIA bloc leaders are expected at today’s protest. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee may also join. Meanwhile the government has increased security for CEC Gyanesh Kumar who already has Z+ protection. ------- Delhi Building Collapse: Death Toll Rises to 4 The death toll in the Delhi building collapse has risen to four. A four-storey building collapsed near Eidgah Fish Market in the New Seemapuri area. During the rescue operation on Thursday another body was recovered from the debris. Officials fear that two to three more people may still be trapped. Eight people have been injured and were taken to Rajiv Gandhi Super Speciality Hospital in Tahirpur. Earlier three deaths had been confirmed including a 12-year-old girl and a 21-year-old pregnant woman. Local residents claimed that cracks had appeared in the building after an earthquake. Rescue and relief operations are still underway. ------ YouTuber Dhruv Rathee to Join CJP Protest YouTuber Dhruv Rathee is set to join a protest by the Cockroach Janata Party or CJP in Bengaluru on Thursday. The protest is against the Special Intensive Revision or SIR of voter lists. Dhruv Rathee has already reached Bengaluru. He shared a video on X and informed his followers about his visit. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke also shared a video. In the video he said that he was in Bengaluru for the protest and had a surprise for people. Dhruv Rathee then appeared in the video. CJP will also hold a protest at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on October 10. ----- Petrol Pump Officer Stabbed to Death in Maharashtra An Indian Oil officer was stabbed to death in Maharashtra’s Hingoli district on Tuesday. Mahesh Shelke had reached a petrol pump to seal it when a dispute broke out. The attackers allegedly stabbed him seven times with a knife. He died at the spot. The incident took place at around 4:30 PM. Petroleum Minister expressed concern over the killing and said strict action should be taken against those responsible. Police are investigating the case and looking for the attackers. ------- Houthis Attack Saudi Airports Three Killed Houthi rebels carried out drone and missile attacks on two airports in Saudi Arabia. Three people were killed and 36 others were injured in the attacks. Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation gave this information on Wednesday. Abha International Airport and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh were targeted on October 6 and 7. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for both attacks. Meanwhile the Saudi-led coalition said it carried out retaliatory strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen. According to the coalition more than 80 military sites linked to the Houthis were targeted. The attacks have raised concerns over security in the region. ------ Pakistan Faces Flour Crisis: 20-Kg Flour Bag Hits Rs 3300 People in Pakistan are facing a flour crisis. In Peshawar the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour has reached 3300 Pakistani rupees. The sharp rise in prices has made people worried. The impact is also being seen at local tandoors. The price of one roti has increased from 20 rupees to 30 rupees. People say the rising cost of flour is making daily life more difficult. Flour is a basic food item for many families in Pakistan. Rain has been reported in Lucknow Barabanki Sitapur and Sultanpur since morning. The Gomti River water level is also rising for the tenth straight day. Water has surrounded the Plassio Mall area. The weather department has issued a rain alert for 42 districts of Uttar Pradesh today. In Bihar a yellow alert has been issued for 26 districts. There is also a possibility of lightning in these areas. Around 466 villages in six districts are still affected by floods. Nearly eight lakh people have been affected by the floods. -
