CM Mohan Yadav to Open New Infosys Software Block in Indore Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate a new Software Development Block at the Infosys campus in Indore on September 16. The new Software Development Block-2 or SDB-2 has been developed over an area of about 3 lakh 30 thousand square feet. The facility is expected to strengthen advanced technology capabilities and create better job opportunities in the state. Infosys will also increase its connection with Madhya Pradesh’s education and technology system. The company plans to expand skill-development programmes and institutional partnerships with IIT Indore IIM Indore and Devi Ahilya University MP Cabinet Approves Projects Worth Over ₹42490 Crore The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav held a meeting at the state secretariat on Tuesday. The Cabinet approved proposals worth more than 42 thousand 490 crore rupees for development infrastructure and public welfare. More than 36 thousand 6 crore rupees were approved for the continuation of the Centre-sponsored Samagra Shiksha Scheme for the next five years. The Cabinet also approved the continuation of 11 schemes of the Transport Department with an allocation of 1 thousand 166 crore rupees. Eight schemes of the Horticulture Department were also approved with 491 crore rupees to support farmers and increase their income. MP High Court Reserves Verdict on Governor Appointment The Madhya Pradesh High Court has reserved its decision on a public interest petition related to the appointment of a new Governor in the state. The term of Governor Mangubhai Patel ended on July 8 2026 but a new Governor has not yet been appointed. A petition was filed in the High Court on August 8. During Tuesday’s hearing the court reserved its decision. The petition was filed by retired Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University professor Dr. A.B. Khan. He argued that Article 153 of the Constitution provides for a Governor in every state. Mangubhai Patel took charge as Madhya Pradesh Governor on July 8 2021. CMO Accused of Making Objectionable Demand from Woman Employee A serious allegation has been made against the Chief Municipal Officer of Chakia Ghat Municipal Council in Rewa. CMO Shankhdhar Pandey has been accused of making an objectionable demand from a woman computer operator. In her complaint the woman alleged that the CMO asked her to stay with him in a room for two hours and said that nobody would know about it. An audio recording of the conversation has also surfaced. The woman alleged that after she refused the demand she was removed from her job. She approached Rewa Collector Narendra Suryavanshi on Tuesday. An inquiry found her complaint to be correct and a proposal to suspend the CMO has been sent to the Commissioner’s office. BJP Chief Nitin Nabin to Visit Ujjain and Indore Bharatiya Janata Party national president Nitin Nabin will visit Ujjain and Indore on September 17 and 18. This will be his first visit to Ujjain after becoming the BJP national president. Party leaders and workers in both cities are preparing for his visit. According to the official programme Nitin Nabin will reach Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore by a special flight at around 1:45 PM on September 17. Local leaders and administrative officials will welcome him at the airport. He will then reach Gandhi Nagar Ground at around 2:45 PM. He is also scheduled to attend local programmes in Indore before travelling to Ujjain. Protest Erupts in Balaghat Over Alleged Assault on Pregnant Woman Thousands of people surrounded a police station in Balaghat Madhya Pradesh protesting against an alleged assault on a pregnant woman and her husband. The protesters claimed that the couple were forced to remove their clothes and were beaten inside the police station eight days ago. People from the Marar Mali community gathered in Kirnapur from different parts of the district and demanded action against those responsible. During the protest some people tried to enter the police station after opening the gate. Stones were also allegedly thrown at the police. Police used tear gas and carried out a lathi charge after the situation became tense. Encroachments Near Bada Talab Kaliyasot Dam Discussed in NGT The National Green Tribunal heard a case related to the boundaries and encroachments around Bhopal’s Bada Talab and Kaliyasot Dam on Tuesday. A report about the boundaries of the two water bodies was presented before the tribunal. A special team had conducted a five-day survey following the NGT’s order. During the hearing environmentalist Dr. Subhash C. Pandey raised objections over the survey of Kerwa Dam and the release of water. He said it was being stated that the dam was not being filled up to its full tank level while water was being released nearby. He questioned how the dam could reach its full level if water was being released. Rain and Thunderstorms to Continue Strong Winds Alert Madhya Pradesh is likely to witness another spell of rain and thunderstorms today. The India Meteorological Department has issued warnings for several parts of the state with heavy rain expected mainly in western Madhya Pradesh. Thunderstorms and lightning are also possible in many districts. Areas including Indore Ujjain Ratlam Mandsaur Neemuch Dewas Khargone Khandwa Sagar Betul and Narmadapuram may receive rain. Strong winds may also blow during thunderstorms. In Bhopal the weather is expected to remain cloudy with chances of showers. People are advised to stay alert during lightning and avoid open areas during thunderstorms.
