CM Mohan Yadav Orders Strict Action in Sagar Liquor Deaths Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited the district hospital in Sagar on Wednesday after deaths linked to poisonous liquor. He met patients admitted to the hospital and asked about their health. The Chief Minister said strict action would be taken against those responsible. He said the accused would face serious charges including those carrying life imprisonment or the death penalty. He also gave the administration a free hand to take necessary action including removing illegal constructions. Action is also being taken under the Excise Act. Reports say 28 people have died while the administration has confirmed 15 deaths. MP Intern Doctors Get 50% Stipend Hike Now ₹21500 Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla has announced a 50 percent increase in the stipend for intern doctors. After a meeting with intern doctors junior doctors and MTA representatives the government accepted their main demands. Intern doctors will now receive a stipend of ₹21500. The minister also said that two police personnel have been sent to the police lines after students faced lathi-charge and water cannon action during the protest. A team has been formed to investigate the incident. The government has also ordered proper medical treatment for injured students. The minister said the intern doctors are happy with the decision. ED Raids Tayal Brothers’ Properties in Sendhwa The Enforcement Directorate or ED carried out raids at several places linked to businessman Ashok Tayal and his family in Sendhwa on Wednesday. ED teams reached their house in Jagannathpuri Colony another house on the old AB Road and the Rajrajeshwar Ginning Factory on Varla Road. The agency searched these locations as part of its action against the businessman and his family. The Tayal brothers had also faced action by the Central Bureau of Investigation or CBI around eight months ago. Further details about the present ED action are awaited. Officials are continuing their investigation at the locations. Protest in Rewa Over Pregnant Woman’s Death A protest was held outside private hospitals in Rewa on Wednesday over the death of pregnant woman Kalpana Mishra. Her family members and supporters took part in the protest and demanded strict action. The protesters also demanded that private hospitals involved in the matter should be closed. They reached City Hospital a private hospital linked to Priyank Sharma the newly appointed superintendent of Sanjay Gandhi Hospital. A tense situation developed when police and protesters came face to face. There was pushing between the two sides after which police detained some protesters. The case is related to the death of Kalpana Mishra and her newborn baby. Congress MLA Abhay Mishra Detained During Protest in Bhopal Congress MLA Abhay Mishra from Semariya in Rewa district was detained by Ratibad police in Bhopal. He was sitting on a protest outside the state government headquarters. Mishra had been demanding a CBI investigation into the deaths of pregnant woman Kalpana Mishra and her newborn baby at Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa. He was also demanding the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Rajendra Shukla. Mishra could sit on the protest for only around 30 minutes before police arrived and took him away. The MLA has raised questions about the treatment and management of the case in Rewa. Monsoon Break in MP No Heavy Rain for Three Days The monsoon has taken another three-day break in Madhya Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department or IMD Bhopal has said that there is no forecast of very heavy or heavy rain in the state until September 11. Light rain may continue at some places on September 9 10 and 11. Meanwhile a low-pressure area is expected to become active over the west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal around September 11. Its effect may start becoming visible in Madhya Pradesh from September 12. Weather conditions are expected to change after that and rainfall may increase in several parts of the state.
