Mahakal Receives the First Rakhi of Raksha Bandhan The first Rakhi of Raksha Bandhan was offered to Baba Mahakal at the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Friday morning. The special Rakhi was tied during the Bhasma Aarti at around 3 AM. Women from the priest’s family prepared the Rakhi following an old tradition. They observed fasts throughout the holy month of Shravan and spent about a week making the Rakhi by hand. It included symbols linked to Lord Mahakal. According to Hindu belief major festivals begin from the courtyard of Mahakal. Vidisha Woman Missing During Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Swati Bagrecha a woman from Vidisha who lives in Toronto has gone missing during the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Her family has not been able to contact her since 9 AM on August 26. Her mobile phone location was reportedly last seen near the China-Tibet border. The family has requested agencies to use technical support to track her location. Vidisha MLA Mukesh Tandon met the family and assured them of all possible help. Efforts are underway to find Swati and bring her back safely. Rajgarh Bus Accident: Four Dead 12 Injured Four people were killed and 12 others injured in a serious bus accident in Rajgarh district on Friday morning. The accident happened around 8:30 AM near Biaora when a speeding bus hit the safety wall of a bridge on the Bhopal bypass. The bus was travelling from Kanpur to Indore. Police said the driver lost control while taking a turn. The victims included a cyber inspector from Karnataka and passengers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Police local people and administration teams carried out rescue operations. 80000 MP Students to Get ₹25000 for Laptops Around 80180 students in Madhya Pradesh will receive ₹25000 each for buying laptops. The amount will be transferred to their bank accounts on September 1. The students scored 75 percent or more in their Class 12 board examinations. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has directed the School Education Department to transfer the money to eligible students. The financial support is being given under the Talented Student Promotion Scheme. The scheme aims to encourage students who perform well in their Class 12 examinations. Heavy Rain Alert for Seven MP Districts The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for seven districts of Madhya Pradesh. Tikamgarh Chhatarpur Katni Sidhi Anuppur Seoni and Balaghat may receive heavy rainfall during the next 24 hours. Rainfall of around two-and-a-half to four inches is possible in these areas. Light rain is likely to continue in Bhopal. According to the IMD Madhya Pradesh has received an average of 26.5 inches of rain so far this monsoon. This is around 71 percent of the normal seasonal rainfall.
