SP Slams 60% Moong Purchase Seeks 40% Salary Cut for Lawmakers The Samajwadi Party in Madhya Pradesh has criticized the state government over its decision to buy only 60 percent of the moong crop at the Minimum Support Price or MSP. State SP President Dr. Manoj Yadav said the decision is unfair to farmers. He questioned why farmers cannot sell their full crop while legislators Members of Parliament and ministers receive their full salaries. The party demanded that if the government buys only 60 percent of the crop then public representatives should also receive only 60 percent of their salaries. The BJP government has not yet responded to the party’s demand. --- CM Yadav Celebrates Tribal Traditions Ahead of Raksha Bandhan Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited a tribal family in Thandla town of Jhabua district. He spent time at the home of Basant Singh Bamaniya and interacted warmly with the family members. The Chief Minister spoke with them about their lives and appreciated tribal traditions and family values. Ahead of the Raksha Bandhan festival women from the tribal community tied rakhi on his wrist. He also met the children blessed them and shared happy moments. Later Dr. Yadav attended a state-level programme on capacity building and loan distribution for Self-Help Groups to support women and rural development. --- Hindu Groups Warn Maulana Over Alleged Remarks A fresh controversy has erupted over alleged remarks by Maulana Jargis Ansari about Lord Shiva and Lord Brahma. Hindu organizations in Bhopal including the Shri Hindu Utsav Samiti and Sanskriti Bachao Manch strongly protested and issued a warning against the cleric. The groups claimed that if he visits Bhopal they will stage a public protest. The controversy follows an earlier speech delivered in Jharkhand on June 23 2026 in which the Maulana allegedly made controversial comments about Lord Krishna. The matter has triggered strong reactions while no official legal action has been announced so far. --- Clashes Erupt at Ratlam EWS Housing Project Several Injured Violence broke out at an EWS housing complex in Ratlam built under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The incident happened when a municipal corporation team reached the area to paste notices for pending payments. Residents allegedly attacked the officials with stones flower pots sticks and wooden rods. During the clash some municipal employees were also seen hitting residents. Videos of the incident have surfaced on social media. A local journalist covering the clash was injured and admitted to a hospital. Police are investigating the incident and further action is expected. --- High Court Reviews MP Temple Priest Appointment Policy The Madhya Pradesh High Court has taken up a petition challenging the states 2019 policy for appointing priests in government-controlled temples. The petition claims that the policy allows only members of the Brahmin community to become priests. It argues that this prevents people from Scheduled Castes Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes from getting equal opportunities. A division bench led by Acting Chief Justice Vivek Rusia heard the matter. After the initial hearing the court issued a notice to the state government and directed it to file its reply within four weeks.
