NEET Student Gang-Raped in Chitrakoot A 20-year-old NEET student was allegedly gang-raped in Uttar Pradeshs Chitrakoot district near Satna. According to police the student was sitting on a hill with her boyfriend when three men approached them. The accused claimed to be forest officials and threatened the couple. They beat the boyfriend with a belt and tied his hands and legs with a cloth. The three men then dragged the student into nearby bushes and allegedly raped her. After the attackers fled the boyfriend freed himself and informed the police. The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon in Devangana Valley forest. Police have launched a search for the accused. CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates Double-Layer Flyover in Indore Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated one arm of the states first double-layer flyover bridge in Indore. The bridge built at Lav Kush Square at a cost of ₹175 crore uses modern engineering and advanced technology. The Chief Minister said Indore and development have become synonymous. He added that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi both the country and Madhya Pradesh are witnessing rapid growth. The new flyover is expected to improve traffic movement and reduce congestion in the city. The government says more infrastructure projects will be completed in the coming months. CAG Report Questions Use of Government Funds A new CAG report has raised serious questions about the use of government funds in Madhya Pradesh. The report says money meant for drinking water nutrition and housing was spent on government events tents religious programmes and staff facilities. It also says around 25 lakh needy women could not receive benefits under nutrition schemes because of administrative failures. According to the report ₹12.30 crore under the Jal Jeevan Mission was used for development tours tents religious events and staff housing instead of providing drinking water. The findings have sparked political debate in the state. BJP MLA Criticises Own Government Over Road Project BJP MLA and former minister Ajay Vishnoi has criticised his own government over road development. In a post on X he said the damaged Shahpura bridge on National Highway-45 has not been repaired even after five months. Because of this heavy traffic is using the Patan road increasing the risk of accidents. Vishnoi said the plan to widen and strengthen the Jabalpur-Patan road is included in the budget. However he claimed the project has not received approval because it is not a priority for Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh. The remarks have triggered political discussion. Supreme Court Cancels Sonam Raghuvanshis Bail The Supreme Court has cancelled the bail of Sonam Raghuvanshi the main accused in the high-profile Raja Raghuvanshi murder case. The decision came after hearing a petition filed by Meghalaya Police. The court directed Sonam to surrender within three weeks which means she will return to jail. Lightning Kills Two Children in Shivpuri Heavy rain continued in many parts of Madhya Pradesh during the last 24 hours. Several village roads remained flooded affecting daily life. In Shivpuris Vijaypura village two children died after being struck by lightning on Thursday afternoon. The victims were identified as 14-year-old Dashrath Adivasi and 10-year-old Abhishek Adivasi. The lightning also killed 17 buffaloes and nine goats. Local officials reached the spot and started relief work. The administration has appealed to people to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid open fields. Weather officials have warned of more rain in several districts.
