President Murmu Commends MP for Beating Sickle Cell Screening Target President Droupadi Murmu praised Madhya Pradesh’s Sickle Cell Mission during a program in Omkareshwar on World Sickle Cell Day. She said the target of screening 1.25 crore people was achieved ahead of schedule. The President highlighted that early testing proper treatment and public awareness are the best ways to fight the disease. She also appreciated the distribution of genetic counselling cards. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that 1.32 crore people have already been screened in the state. The government now aims to complete 1.60 crore screenings by 2027 to help eliminate sickle cell anemia. High Court Issues Notice in Sanjay Pathak Defamation Case The Madhya Pradesh High Court has issued a notice to the state government in a defamation case involving BJP MLA Sanjay Pathak. The court has asked the government to submit its reply within two weeks. The petition was filed by Katni-based arms dealer Nazim Khan. He alleged that Pathak made false accusations against him including claims of illegal arms sales and the disappearance of 14000 cartridges. Khan said these allegations damaged his reputation and public image. The next hearing in the case is scheduled for July 6. The matter is currently under judicial review. NEET Aspirant Dies by Suicide in Indore A NEET aspirant in Indore died after jumping from the third floor of a building. The student Avantika Maurya was seriously injured and later died during treatment at a hospital. According to her family she had failed the NEET examination three times and was under stress due to recent developments related to the exam. Police have started an investigation into the incident. A CCTV video of the event has also surfaced and is being examined by investigators. The tragic incident has once again highlighted concerns about academic pressure and mental health among competitive exam students in India. High Alert for NEET-UG 2026 Examination Authorities in Madhya Pradesh have tightened security arrangements for the NEET-UG 2026 examination scheduled for June 21. All examination centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras signal jammers and biometric attendance systems to prevent cheating. Students will also receive support through help desks doctors and time-display facilities at centres. In Bhopal more than 13700 candidates are expected to appear for the test. Indian Railways has announced a special train service between Indore Bhopal and Ratlam for examinees. Jabalpur will also introduce a special bus service for students appearing in the examination. Missing Bhopal Boy Found Safe in Mathura Six-year-old Ansh Maina who went missing from Bhopal four days ago has been found safe in Mathura. Police teams tracked the child using CCTV footage and technical surveillance. During the investigation officials discovered that the boy had boarded a train alone and travelled to Mathura. Police have taken him into custody and are making arrangements to bring him back to Bhopal. Authorities will question the child to understand how he managed to travel such a long distance by himself. The successful rescue has brought relief to the family after several days of uncertainty and concern. Former Revenue Officer Gets 5-Year Jail in Bribery Case A special court in Panna has sentenced former deputy tehsildar Ravishankar Shukla and watchman Devidayal Dahayat to five years in prison in a corruption case. The court also imposed fines on both convicts. The case dates back to 2020 when officials allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹35000 to release a tractor loaded with soil that had been seized. After a complaint was filed an investigation was conducted and legal proceedings followed. The court found both men guilty of corruption and awarded the prison sentence as punishment for accepting illegal gratification.
