Huge Crowd at CM Program Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav attended a big event in Pandhana Khandwa district on Saturday. He transferred the February installment of Ladli Behna Yojana into the bank accounts of 1.25 crore women with a single click. He also announced development projects worth Rs 609 crore for the district. Around 25000 women came to attend the program. Due to heavy crowd and limited seating many women were seen carrying chairs on their heads to find a place to sit. About 5000 women from self-help groups also joined the event. Protest Over Nutrition Work Decision Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar criticized the government for taking away nutrition food work from women’s self-help groups. He said the government had promised to make these women financially strong. Now this work is being given to rich contractors which may affect poor women’s income. Singhar said many women depend on this work for their livelihood. He also said earlier leaders showed dreams of making women earn more but now their work is being reduced. He demanded the government rethink this decision. Lawyer Shot Dead in Shivpuri A lawyer was shot dead in broad daylight in Karera town of Shivpuri district on Saturday. The victim Sanjay Kumar Saxena aged 57 was going to court on his bike when unknown attackers fired at him. The incident happened near Anand Sagar Temple on Siddhan Road. He died on the spot. Police reached the scene and started investigation. It is still not clear how many attackers were involved and how they escaped. The reason behind the murder is also not known yet. Officer Accused of Taking 50% Commission An officer from the Women and Child Development Department in Narmadapuram has been accused of demanding 50 percent commission to clear bills. The officer Sanjay Jain has received a notice from Commissioner Nidhi Nivedita. He has been asked to reply within 15 days. Earlier an FIR was also filed against him for alleged misconduct with a woman employee. He denied all allegations and said someone is trying to trap him. The department is now investigating the complaints against him. Farmer Dies of Electric Shock A 40-year-old farmer died due to electric shock in Lateri area of Vidisha district. The farmer Prahlad Singh Yadav had gone to his field to water crops. He usually returned home by afternoon but did not come back till evening. His family went to the field and found him lying there. Police believe he got electric shock while operating irrigation equipment. A case has been registered and investigation has started. The body was sent for postmortem examination. Five From MP Die in Jaipur Accident Five people from Madhya Pradesh died in a road accident near Chaksu in Jaipur on Saturday morning. Their car hit a trailer on the Kota-Jaipur National Highway. Police said the driver may have fallen asleep while driving. The car was badly damaged in the crash. All victims were from Jabalpur. They were returning after visiting the Mahakal temple in Ujjain and were going to Khatu Shyam temple. Police removed the damaged vehicle with the help of a crane. Nimar Gold Cup Football Tournament The Nimar Gold Cup All India Football Tournament is being held in Barwani district. Two semi-final matches were played on Saturday. In the first match ARA Ahmedabad defeated Raisen with a score of 7-1. In the second semi-final host team Young Brothers defeated Mumbai Customs Maharashtra. Both teams have now reached the final match. The final will be played on Sunday. Local football fans are excited and large numbers are expected to attend the match. Weather to Change After February 16 Weather in Madhya Pradesh may change after February 16 due to a western disturbance. Clouds are likely to appear in many areas. At present cities like Bhopal and Indore are seeing warm days while nights remain cool in Pachmarhi Khajuraho and Katni. Weather experts say February will continue to have warm days and cool nights. There will be no strong cold wave or heavy fog. People may feel light temperature changes in coming days.
