Oppn questions inactivity of several state commissions Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar has raised serious questions about the functioning of various state commissions set up to protect the rights of vulnerable communities. According to Singhar many of these commissions have remained inactive since 2016-17 during the BJP government’s tenure. This negligence he claims has left marginalized groups unprotected and vulnerable to exploitation. Jabalpur youth caught impersonating SP A young man from Patan Jabalpur district was arrested by Uttar Pradesh police for impersonating a Superintendent of Police in Kasganj district. Heavy rain triggers dam gate openings flooding in MP Madhya Pradesh is witnessing heavy rainfall with alerts issued in 18 districts. Authorities have opened 8 gates of Bansagar dam and 5 gates of Satpura dam to manage rising water levels. In Alirajpur continuous rain since 6 am has caused the Uri river to overflow submerging homes and flooding roads. Water levels are 3 feet above bridge height in some areas prompting warnings to residents near rivers.
