Amit Shah Sets 2029 Deadline to Make MP Drug-Free Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that Madhya Pradesh will be made drug-free by December 31 2029. He made the announcement at a Gopalak conference held at the BHEL Dussehra Ground in Bhopal on Saturday. Around 35000 cattle rearers from 11 districts attended the event. A total of 101 crore rupees was given for cow shelters. The virtual foundation stone of a 255-crore-rupee dairy plant in Ujjain was also laid. Shah said a detailed plan will be prepared with the Chief Minister and the Home Department to fight drug abuse. He also said India has become the world’s largest milk-producing country. Chemical Spill in Indore Pedestrians Report Eye Irritation A chemical spilled from a truck on a road in Indore’s Lasudia area on Saturday. The incident happened in the Panchvati area near the Lasudia police station. Several people who came in contact with the chemical complained of burning and itching in their eyes. Soon after the incident police municipal workers and fire brigade teams reached the spot. Around 5000 litres of water were used to clean the road. The truck was travelling towards Mangliya when the chemical fell onto the road. Police are checking CCTV footage to identify the chemical and find out why it spilled from the truck. NGT Pulls Up Authorities Over Waste Management in MP The National Green Tribunal has strongly criticised authorities over poor waste management in Bhopal and Madhya Pradesh. The case involves violations of solid waste management rules illegal dumping and improper treatment of old waste. The hearing was held by a bench headed by Justice Shyo Kumar Singh and expert member Sudhir Kumar Chaturvedi. The case was filed by environmental activist Nitin Saxena. The NGT issued directions to the Bhopal Municipal Corporation Madhya Pradesh Pollution Control Board and the state government. The authorities have been asked to submit an action report within four weeks. Indore Municipal Driver Attempts Suicide After Drinking Poison An Indore Municipal Corporation driver allegedly tried to take his own life by drinking poison on Saturday. The driver Dharmendra Dharu has been working with the corporation for the last 10 years. Before drinking poison he made a video in which he accused four people of pressuring him over borrowed money and interest payments. He named four people as Durgesh Yogesh Bhanwar and Bunty. His family took him to MY Hospital where he is undergoing treatment in the ICU. The Sanyogitaganj police are investigating the viral video. The exact situation will become clear after Dharmendra’s statement. Nayara Raises Petrol Price by 5 Rupees in MP Nayara Energy has increased petrol and diesel prices across the country. In Madhya Pradesh petrol has become 5 rupees and diesel 3 rupees more expensive per litre. The company has around 275 petrol pumps in the state including 11 in Bhopal. According to a pump operator petrol in Bhopal was selling at 114.81 rupees and diesel at 99.59 rupees per litre on Friday. After the increase petrol reached 119.81 rupees and diesel 102.59 rupees per litre on Saturday. The price hike has affected customers at Nayara fuel stations across Madhya Pradesh. Gwalior Sweet Shop Owner Shot Condition Critical A sweet shop owner was shot at by bike-borne attackers in Gwalior on Friday afternoon. The incident took place in front of the Padav police station. The victim Ashok Pal runs Banke Bihari Sweets and Snacks Centre. One bullet hit him in the waist and he fell on the road. His family took him to Apollo Hospital where he is being treated in the ICU. His condition is reported to be critical. Ashok’s brother has accused Dinesh Yadav and Chhotu Yadav of the attack. The family claims the shooting may be linked to an old dispute involving a missing girl. Monsoon Withdraws From MP 10 Days Earlier Than Last Year The monsoon has completely withdrawn from Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. This year the monsoon arrived in the state on June 24 and has left around 10 days earlier than last year. The withdrawal has started a change in weather conditions across the state. Night temperatures in Bhopal Indore and Ujjain have dropped below 20 degrees Celsius. Amarkantak recorded the lowest temperature at 17.1 degrees Celsius. At the same time daytime temperatures crossed 35 degrees in five districts including Bhopal and Ujjain. Dry northern winds and falling moisture levels led to the withdrawal of the monsoon.
