Omkareshwar Ekta Dham to Become Centre of Sanatan: CM Yadav Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav laid the foundation stone of a grand Panchayatan Temple at Ekta Dham in Omkareshwar on Thursday. The ceremony was held in the presence of saints and other special guests. Forty-five holy stones were worshipped during the ceremony. Vedic priests performed the rituals as per tradition. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said Ekta Dham will not be only a religious place. It will become a centre of India’s ancient knowledge spirituality and cultural unity. He said Adi Shankaracharya promoted the Panchayatan worship tradition. A grand Ekta Yatra will also be held before Simhastha 2028. T-72 Tank Project Worth Rs 472 Crore Started in Jabalpur A major defence project worth around Rs 472 crore has started at the Vehicle Factory in Jabalpur. The project is for the repair and technical upgrade of Indian Army T-72 tanks. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh laid the foundation stone on Thursday. Under this project around 12 T-72 tanks will be repaired and upgraded every year. The facility will check the tanks and improve their technical systems. Rajnath Singh said tanks are still important in modern warfare even with the growing use of drones and missiles. The project is expected to increase defence production and create more opportunities in Jabalpur. Truck Crushes 11 Cows in Guna Highway Blocked A tragic road accident took place on NH-46 in Guna late Wednesday night. A speeding truck hit and crushed cows sitting on the road near Chintaharan Temple. Eleven cows died in the accident. After the incident angry villagers and cow protection workers reached the spot. They blocked NH-46 and started a protest. The highway was blocked in both directions causing long lines of vehicles. Police and administration officials reached the spot after getting information about the protest. They spoke to the villagers and tried to clear the road. Efforts were then made to restore normal traffic on the highway. Two Killed in Clash Between Two Karni Sena Groups in Ujjain Two people were killed in a violent clash between two groups linked to Karni Sena in Ujjain on Wednesday night. The incident happened at a dhaba in Kanipura. The two groups reportedly had an argument over a post. After the argument one side called several people for help. Around 12 to 15 people reportedly arrived with weapons and attacked the other group. Knives and swords were used in the attack. Two people died while two others were injured. Several vehicles were also damaged during the violence. Police reached the spot and started an investigation. The accused are being searched for. Congress Holds Protest Against Rising Prices in Sagar Congress workers held a protest in Sagar against rising prices under the ‘Janta Ki Awaaz’ campaign. Workers visited tea shops hotels grocery stores and petrol pumps. They also spoke to local people about the rising cost of daily-use items. Congress workers raised concerns about the prices of sugar petrol and other food products. They said expensive sugar has increased the cost of tea and sweets. They also claimed that higher prices are affecting small shopkeepers and common people. During the protest workers raised slogans against the BJP government. The Congress said it will continue to raise the issue of inflation. Raksha Bandhan Shopping Brings Festive Cheer to Markets Markets remained busy across the district on Thursday ahead of Raksha Bandhan on August 28. Shops in Gujri Bazaar Main Road and nearby areas were decorated with colourful rakhis. Women and girls visited the markets to buy rakhis and sweets for their brothers. Many women also purchased beauty and decoration items for themselves. Brothers were also seen buying gifts for their sisters. The festival brought a happy and festive atmosphere to the markets. Shopkeepers saw good customer activity throughout the day. Preparations have also started for the Kajliya immersion ceremony which takes place after Raksha Bandhan. Heavy Rain Alert Across Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh is likely to see active monsoon conditions today. The India Meteorological Department has warned of very heavy rain in parts of both East and West Madhya Pradesh on August 27. Thunderstorms lightning and strong winds are also expected in several areas. Rain activity is likely to continue on August 28 and 29 with heavy rain expected in parts of East Madhya Pradesh. People are advised to remain alert during thunderstorms and avoid unnecessary travel in areas affected by heavy rain.
