Bhopal to Host BRICS Cultural Conference from Tomorrow Bhopal will host the BRICS Cultural Conference 2026 from August 5 to August 8. Delegates from 10 BRICS member and partner countries will take part in the four-day event. All preparations at Kushabhau Thakre Convention Centre also known as Minto Hall are complete. Union Culture Ministry Secretary Vivek Agrawal and Madhya Pradesh Additional Chief Secretary Shiv Shekhar Shukla shared details on Tuesday. The first day will include registration accreditation bilateral meetings and exhibition visits. The conference aims to strengthen cultural ties and promote cooperation among BRICS countries through dialogue heritage and cultural exchange. --- BJP Holds Review Meeting After Datia By-election Defeat The Bharatiya Janata Party held a high-level review meeting in Bhopal after its defeat in the Datia Assembly by-election. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav State BJP President Hemant Khandelwal and senior party leaders attended the meeting at the Chief Ministers residence. Around 20 leaders involved in the election campaign were called for discussion. The party is reviewing the reasons behind the loss. Sources say the role of some leaders and workers who are accused of not following the party line during the campaign will also be examined. The BJP plans to study the results carefully. --- MP Cabinet Approves Teacher Benefits and New Recruitment The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has approved the recruitment of 10000 new teachers in the state. It also decided to give the fourth upgraded pay scale to 6846 teachers of the Tribal Affairs Department. Teachers who completed 35 years of service will receive the benefit from July 1 2023. The decision will put an additional financial burden of 182 crore rupees on the state government. The cabinet said the move will reward experienced teachers and strengthen the education system by filling vacant teaching posts across Madhya Pradesh. --- Jyoti Singh Appointed Gwalior Women Congress President The Madhya Pradesh Women Congress has announced new district presidents in 24 districts. The appointments were approved by National Women Congress President Alka Lamba. State Women Congress President Reena Borasi released the first list on Tuesday. Jyoti Singh has been appointed as the Gwalior City President. Priyanka Soni will lead the Jabalpur City unit while Dr. Kiranlata Soni has been named the Sagar City President. The party said the new team will work to strengthen the organization and increase womens participation in political and social activities. --- No Direct FIR Against Patwaris Govt Issues Order The Madhya Pradesh government has directed all district collectors not to allow direct FIRs against Patwaris without proper inquiry. The Revenue Departments Principal Secretary has asked collectors to investigate every case before any police action is taken. The decision comes during the ongoing indefinite strike by Patwaris across the state. However despite the governments order the Patwaris have not ended their protest. They continue to demand action on their issues. The government hopes the new instruction will ensure fair investigation and reduce unnecessary legal action against revenue officials. --- Kailash Vijayvargiya Reacts to Datia By-election Loss Madhya Pradesh Urban Development Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has reacted to the BJPs defeat in the Datia Assembly by-election. Speaking in Indore he said by-elections are different from general elections but the party cannot ignore the defeat. He said the BJP will carefully review the election result and find out the reasons behind the loss. Vijayvargiya added that every election teaches important lessons and the party will work to correct its mistakes. The BJP leadership has already started reviewing the campaign and the performance of party workers. --- D.El.Ed Students Protest Over Delay in Results Second-year D.El.Ed students staged a protest in Bhopal against the delay in examination results by the Board of Secondary Education. Students said the delay has put their future at risk. One student said her parents worked hard to support her education and although she has been selected for a Class-3 government post she cannot submit documents because the result has not been declared. Protesting students demanded immediate release of the results. They warned that if the results are delayed further they will launch a stronger protest in the coming days. --- Congress Attacks BJP After Datia By-election Result After winning the Datia Assembly by-election the Congress attacked the BJP government. Congress Media Department Chairman Mukesh Nayak alleged that everything has a fixed price under the BJP government and no work is done without money. He said the BJP should not only review who worked during the election but should also examine corruption in the state. According to Nayak corruption is the real reason behind the BJPs defeat. He said only an honest review of governance will help the ruling party understand the election result. --- Heavy Rain Likely in MP from August 6 The India Meteorological Department has said heavy rainfall is likely to return to Madhya Pradesh from August 6. At present there is no strong weather system over the state. Light rain cloudy skies and drizzle are expected on August 4 and 5. According to the weather office in Bhopal a western disturbance will become active from August 6. Its effect may bring heavy rain to several districts. People have been advised to stay alert and follow weather updates especially in areas that may receive heavy rainfall and waterlogging.
