A sleeper bus carrying passengers from Banswara to Surat crashed into a truck parked on the roadside near Kotambi Stadium. According to officials 6 people lost their lives in the accident including a 9-year-old child. At least 31 other passengers were injured. The impact of the crash was very strong. Many passengers became trapped inside the damaged bus. Rescue teams from the (NDRF) and the Vadodara Fire Department quickly reached the scene. Rescuers worked for several hours to pull passengers out of the wreckage. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. According to officials Das had gone to collect grass from his land near the border when he reportedly went missing. Local residents claimed he was taken across the border by a group of Bangladeshi nationals leading to tensions in the area. Border forces from both countries held a flag meeting to resolve the issue.
