MP Roads Potholes Must Be Repaired Within 48 Hours The road safety committee of the Supreme Court has instructed the Madhya Pradesh government to repair potholes within 48 hours to avoid road accidents. Officials were also told to place barricades around open drains damaged roads and waterlogged areas to protect people. During the rainy season proper lights should be installed in risky places so drivers and pedestrians can stay safe at night. The committee sent a letter to the Chief Secretary and asked for a detailed report within two months. The aim is to improve road safety and reduce accidents caused by poor road conditions. Officer Arrested While Taking One Lakh Rupees Bribe The Lokayukta team in Indore arrested district project coordinator Pradeep Kumar Khare while allegedly taking a bribe of one lakh rupees in Dhar district. Officials said he worked at the district education center and was accused of demanding money in exchange for signing completion certificates for construction work. Reports claim he had asked for a much bigger amount of money earlier. The Lokayukta team conducted a trap operation and caught him during the alleged bribery act on Monday. The case has again raised concerns about corruption inside government offices and public departments. SDOP Pooja Pandey Gets Bail in Hawala Robbery Case SDOP Pooja Pandey has received bail from the Supreme Court in a major hawala robbery case connected to Seoni district. She is accused of involvement in a robbery linked to nearly three crore rupees. During the hearing she reportedly informed the court that she has a two-year-old child and requested relief. Based on this reason the Supreme Court granted her bail on Monday. However the legal case will continue in the trial court and investigations into other accused police personnel linked to the case are still ongoing. VHP Demands Inquiry into Pitambara Peeth Management Vishwa Hindu Parishad has raised questions about the management of Pitambara Peeth in Datia. On Monday members of the organization submitted a memorandum to the district collector and demanded an investigation into several issues. They questioned the temple’s management system construction work and the transparency of donation money. According to the organization many complaints are being heard from devotees and such problems may affect people’s faith in the temple. Officials may now examine the complaints and review the functioning of the religious trust and temple administration. Khajuraho Records Season’s Highest Temperature Khajuraho became the hottest place in Madhya Pradesh on Monday as severe heat and strong hot winds affected the state. The temperature reached 46.8 degrees Celsius making it one of the hottest days ever recorded there. Weather officials said this was the second hottest day in the city’s recorded history. The hottest temperature was recorded on April 29 1993 when it touched 46.9 degrees Celsius. Due to the extreme heat people were advised to avoid going outside during afternoon hours drink enough water and stay protected from heat-related illness.
