Gadkari Says: “I Have Draupadi’s Plate” Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said that he has Draupadi’s plate and no one will remain hungry. He said that whoever comes to him asking for help will always get food. Gadkari praised Madhya Pradesh’s agriculture growth rate and said that the state is doing very well in farming. He said MP’s wheat is supplied to many countries across the world. He also said that basmati rice from the state is well known. Gadkari said that farmers need more support in the coming years because agriculture is facing many challenges globally. He added that Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan is making continuous efforts for farmers. Earlier Gadkari gave ₹4400 crore worth of road projects to Madhya Pradesh. In Vidisha he inaugurated and laid foundation stones for 8 National Highway projects in the presence of CM Dr. Mohan Yadav and Shivraj Singh Chauhan. CM said these projects will improve connectivity safety jobs and economic growth. CM Mohan Yadav Visits Union Carbide Factory Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Union Carbide factory in JP Nagar Bhopal on Saturday. During the visit he spoke with gas relief officials and reviewed the situation. CM said that this is the first time any Chief Minister has entered the factory premises after the gas tragedy. He said that the poisonous waste from the factory was removed last year. The government is now planning to develop the area in a better way. CM said that with guidance from the court the government will take suggestions on building a memorial and other development works at the site. Dr. Mohan Yadav said that all sections of society will be taken into confidence before any decision. He also accused the Congress government of neglecting the victims in the past. He said that earlier governments left people to die and did nothing for justice or rehabilitation. Rahul Gandhi Targets Government Over Water Crisis Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi reached Indore on Saturday. He first visited Bombay Hospital where he met patients affected by contaminated drinking water. Rahul Gandhi also spoke to the families of the patients. Rahul said that people are getting sick and even dying after drinking water. He said this shows the failure of the government’s urban planning. Rahul Gandhi said Indore is called a smart city but people are not getting clean drinking water. He said families became ill after consuming polluted water and hospitals are full of patients. Rahul Gandhi questioned the government’s development model and called it a false urban model. He said basic needs like clean water should come before big projects. His remarks triggered a political debate in the state. ₹10 Lakh Cheque Given to Rape Victim’s Family In Goharganj area of Raisen district a shocking incident of rape involving a 6-year-old girl came to light. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan met the victim’s family on Saturday. He handed over a ₹10 lakh cheque to the family. The minister clarified that this money is not from any government fund. It was collected through personal cooperation and social support. The aim is to ensure the girl’s education safety and future. Shivraj Singh Chauhan expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He said such crimes against children are unacceptable and society must stand with the victim. He also assured strict action against the accused. The minister said the government will ensure justice and full support to the family during this difficult time. Congress MLA’s Controversial Statement on Women A controversy has erupted after a video of Congress MLA Phool Singh Baraiya surfaced on social media. He claimed that religious books say if someone cannot go on a pilgrimage then committing rape on a Dalit or tribal woman or girl gives the same religious benefit. Holkar Stadium Area Declared No-Flying Zone There is huge excitement in Indore ahead of the India vs New Zealand One Day International match to be played on Sunday at Holkar Stadium. Protest After Cattle Remains Found in Bhopal Tension spread in Narialkheda area of Bhopal after remains of a cattle with a cut neck were found on Saturday. The incident led to anger among local residents and Hindu organizations. They demanded immediate identification and arrest of the accused. In protest members of Hindu organizations gathered outside the police station. They carried the cattle remains in a symbolic procession from Golghar Narialkheda to the police station. The protest continued for nearly two hours. Senior police officials and a large police force were deployed to control the situation. Police assured strict investigation and action. Authorities appealed to people to maintain peace and not spread rumors. The situation later came under control but tension remained in the area. Severe Cold Wave Grips Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh is experiencing severe cold due to icy winds coming from northern India. The cold has intensified after snowfall in hilly regions. Umaria recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 4.8 degrees Celsius. Morning fog was seen in more than 15 districts reducing visibility. The Meteorological Department has issued a cold wave alert for Shahdol Anuppur Umaria Katni and Maihar districts. People are facing difficulties in early morning hours especially children and the elderly. Cold conditions have affected daily life transport and outdoor work. Weather officials said cold conditions are likely to continue for the next few days. Citizens are advised to take precautions and stay warm.
