Patwari Slams PPP Model for District Hospitals Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari has strongly criticized the state government for promoting Public-Private Partnership (PPP) in the health sector. His reaction came as Union Health Minister JP Nadda and Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav laid foundation stones for new medical colleges in Dhar and Betul under PPP mode. Patwari opposed handing over district hospitals to private institutions. He said first panchayats were given on contract now hospitals are going the same way. He warned that one day even the state secretariat could run on PPP. Patwari sarcastically said a day may come when the Chief Minister himself is offered on contract under PPP model. Mulatai to Be Renamed as “Mooltapi” Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav has announced that Mulatai town in Betul district will be renamed as “Mooltapi.” The announcement was made during the foundation stone ceremony of a medical college in Betul in the presence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda. The Chief Minister said the proposal was sent by Mulatai MLA Chandrashekhar Deshmukh and the state government will move forward with it. Dr Yadav also announced the construction of a tribal museum in Betul. The government said the name change reflects cultural and historical roots connected to the Tapti river and local traditions. Digvijaya Singh’s Statement on Bangladesh Violence Sparks Debate Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh has given a controversial statement on violence against Hindu and Christian communities in Bangladesh. He said the situation in Bangladesh is linked to extremist and fundamentalist forces that use religion for politics. Singh claimed that actions against minorities in India are also creating reactions in neighboring countries like Bangladesh. He strongly condemned the violence against Hindus and Christians there. Speaking in Delhi Singh said Bangladesh’s chief adviser Mohammad Yunus is a respected economist and he expects responsible intervention from him to control the situation and protect minorities. Guest Teachers to Launch Statewide Protest in MP Guest teachers working in Madhya Pradesh have announced a statewide protest against the government for not fulfilling its promises. In a state-level meeting held in Bhopal the Guest Teachers Coordination Committee decided to organize divisional conferences from December 25 2025 to January 25 2026. After this a major protest will be held in Bhopal on January 31. The teachers allege that the BJP government has failed to honor assurances made in the विधानसभा and public platforms. They are demanding job security policy clarity and implementation of long-pending announcements. ED Files Charge Sheet Against Indore Congress Leader The Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet against Indore Congress leader Vishal also known as Golu Agnihotri in a special PMLA court. His close associate Tarun Shrivastava has also been named in the case. The charge sheet was submitted in the ED’s special court in Indore. The case is linked to illegal dabba trading and online betting operations. Investigations revealed that the betting network was active in Indore Mumbai Ahmedabad Chennai and even Dubai. Authorities claim the gang earned around Rs 404 crore through illegal activities across multiple cities. Bhopal Indore and Maheshwar to Become Creative Cities The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that Bhopal Indore and Maheshwar will be developed as “Creative Cities.” Tourism and Culture Minister Dharmendra Singh Lodhi said that more than 14 crore tourists visited the state last year including foreign visitors. Around 400 homestays are currently operational helping rural families earn nearly Rs 7 crore. The minister said the tourism department has received over 18 national and international awards in the last two years. He added that projects worth Rs 900 crore are underway to develop cultural and religious destinations across the state. Fire Breaks Out Near Satpura Bhavan in Bhopal A fire broke out in bushes near Satpura Bhavan in Bhopal on Tuesday afternoon causing panic in the area. Thick black smoke was seen rising high into the sky and remained visible for nearly 15 minutes. Three fire brigade vehicles rushed to the spot and managed to control the fire in time. Several trees were burnt due to the flames. People in nearby buildings were alarmed as Satpura Bhavan had witnessed a major fire incident about two years ago as well. Authorities said the situation was brought under control without casualties. Dense Fog Disrupts Life and Train Services in MP Cold wave conditions along with dense fog continue to affect many parts of Madhya Pradesh. On Tuesday morning Rewa and Satna witnessed extremely poor visibility creating a “blind morning” situation. Visibility dropped to less than 50 meters making road travel risky. The thick fog had a direct impact on rail services with more than a dozen trains running late. Passengers faced inconvenience due to delays and low visibility at stations. The weather department has advised people to remain cautious during early morning hours as foggy conditions may continue for the next few days.
