“Operation Sindoor Showcases India’s Self-Reliance” On the 79th Independence Day PM Narendra Modi hoisted the tricolor at the Red Fort for the 12th time. In his longest speech yet 103 minutes he began with Operation Sindoor. Modi praised the army for entering hundreds of kilometers inside enemy land to destroy terrorists. He said Pakistan still can’t sleep after the operation. He credited India’s self-reliance for the swift success saying enemies didn’t even realize which weapon was destroying them. Modi also spoke on terrorism the Indus Water Treaty Make in India Naxalism and illegal infiltration even mentioning RSS from the Red Fort for the first time. “PM Announces Big Job Scheme GST Cut by Diwali” PM Narendra Modi made two major announcements on Independence Day from the Red Fort. He launched the ₹1 lakh crore “Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana” promising 3.5 crore jobs for the youth. Modi also announced next-generation GST reforms to be implemented by Diwali. He said taxes on common goods will be reduced making daily-use items cheaper. GST which is now 8 years old has been reviewed and simplified. Modi called it a “big Diwali gift” for the people of India. The reforms aim to make taxation easier and boost economic growth while giving relief to the common man. “Cloudburst in J&K Kills 60 Many Still Missing” A massive cloudburst struck Chasoti village in Kishtwar Jammu and Kashmir on August 14 around 12:30 PM. Heavy water and debris rushed down from the mountains trapping villagers. So far 60 people have died with 21 bodies identified. Rescue teams have saved 167 people but 38 are seriously injured. Over 100 people are still missing and search operations are ongoing. The disaster has caused massive destruction to homes and farmland. Authorities are working round the clock to find survivors. Locals say the tragedy struck within minutes giving no time for people to escape the raging water and mud. . “RSS Chief Calls for Stray Dog Population Control” RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat has urged authorities to control the population of stray dogs to solve the problem in cities like Delhi. Speaking at a religious gathering in Cuttack’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium Bhagwat said sending dogs to shelters is not enough; their numbers must be controlled. He stressed the need for balance between humans and nature saying that development should go hand-in-hand with environmental protection. Bhagwat also warned that ignoring such issues could harm both society and nature. His comments have sparked a fresh debate on urban animal management and humane solutions. “Trump Claims He Averted Nuclear Clash Between India Pakistan” Former US President Donald Trump has once again claimed that he prevented a major conflict between India and Pakistan which could have turned into a nuclear war. Trump said fighter jets from both countries were shooting each other down with six to seven planes destroyed. According to him the situation was so tense that nuclear weapons might have been used. He claimed his intervention helped resolve the matter peacefully. Trump did not specify the year but the remarks are believed to refer to the 2019 tensions after the Pulwama terror attack and the Balakot airstrikes.
