Rahul Gandhi to Address Students in Indore on September 19 Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi will now visit Indore on September 19 instead of September 12. His proposed programme “Chhatron Ki Goonj” was earlier planned at Nehru Stadium. Congress had requested permission from the district administration. However permission was not given with the administration referring to a court-related issue. Congress has now decided to change the venue. The programme will be held at Regional Park in Indore on September 19. Preparations for the new date and venue have started. A large number of students and young people are expected to attend the programme. MP Govt Plans 10 Hours of Daytime Power for Farmers Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the state government is working to provide farmers with 10 hours of electricity during the daytime. He made the statement at the state-level Balram Jayanti celebration in Gwalior. The Chief Minister said Prime Minister Narendra Modi gives priority to four major groups—farmers women poor people and youth. He said farmers play an important role in feeding the country. Dr. Yadav added that the government is focusing on better roads electricity and water facilities. The government also plans to provide support and modern facilities for better farming and crops. ED Raids Former MLA’s Locations in Toll Fraud Case The Enforcement Directorate or ED has started raids in a case related to fake toll collection and money fraud at NHAI toll plazas. Raids are being conducted in 14 states including Madhya Pradesh. In MP locations linked to toll collection on the Narsinghpur-Chhindwara National Highway are also under investigation. The toll collection is reportedly linked to a company associated with former Congress MLA Sanjay Sharma. According to reports ED teams searched three locations connected to the former MLA. These include offices at the highway Tendukheda and Deori. Officials are checking documents and other important records. Three Dead After Bus Falls Into Pit in Rewa Three people were killed after a bus and a bulker vehicle met with a serious accident in Rewa. Eight passengers are reported to be seriously injured while several others also suffered injuries. The accident happened near Badwar Stand on National Highway Number 39 in Gurh on Wednesday evening. A Pawan Travels bus was going from Rewa to Sidhi when a bulker reportedly hit it from behind. The bulker overturned while the bus fell into a pit beside the road. Around 40 passengers were travelling in the bus. Police and administration teams reached the spot and started rescue work. Congress Angry Over Plan to Remove Rajiv Gandhi’s Name A political controversy has started in Madhya Pradesh over the decision to divide Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya or RGPV into three parts and change its name. The Congress has strongly criticised the BJP government’s decision. Former Chief Minister Kamal Nath said removing former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi’s name from RGPV shows the BJP government’s “narrow mindset.” He said Rajiv Gandhi played an important role in bringing modern technology to India. Kamal Nath also said that India entered the world of computers and information technology during Rajiv Gandhi’s time. The issue has now created a major political debate in the state. Former Minister’s Nephew Booked in AC Dispute A dispute over installing an air conditioner turned violent in Gwalior. Akshay Pratap the nephew of former minister Dr. Govind Singh has been accused of entering an office and assaulting a person. He is also accused of giving death threats. The argument reportedly turned into a physical fight between both sides. Police have registered a case against Akshay Pratap and three other people. However Akshay Pratap has also accused the other side of assault. Police are investigating complaints from both sides and checking all facts related to the incident. Further action will be taken after the investigation. Rainwater Enters BJP Office in Satna Heavy rain has worsened the situation in several parts of Madhya Pradesh. Flood-like conditions have been reported in Satna and Chitrakoot. The water level of the Mandakini River has risen again increasing concern in Chitrakoot. In Satna rainwater entered the bus stand and even the BJP office. The weather department has issued a heavy rain alert for 22 districts of the state. Continuous rainfall has affected normal life in many areas. The administration is closely monitoring river water levels and weather conditions. People have been advised to stay away from rivers streams and waterlogged areas for their safety.
