High Court Reserves Verdict in Rahul Gandhi Defamation Case The Madhya Pradesh High Court heard arguments in the defamation case involving opposition leader Rahul Gandhi and Kartikeya Singh Chouhan. During the hearing Kartikeya informed the court that Rahul Gandhi had already expressed regret over the matter and requested that the petition be dismissed. Rahul Gandhi stated that he had mistakenly mentioned Kartikeyas name in connection with the Panama Papers case. After hearing arguments from both sides the court reserved its verdict. Two Officials Caught Taking ₹1 Lakh Bribe The Ujjain Lokayukta team arrested two government officials in Neemuch while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹1 lakh. The accused include District Coordinator Rakesh Rathore and Hostel Superintendent Harish Chouhan from the Tribal Welfare Department. According to investigators the officials demanded money from a suspended hostel superintendent in exchange for administrative relief before her transfer or reinstatement process. The anti-corruption team conducted a planned operation and caught both officials red-handed. MP Employees Can Calculate Leave Encashment Benefits The Madhya Pradesh government has issued new guidelines regarding leave encashment benefits for government employees. Under the rules employees can estimate the amount they will receive upon retirement or in the event of death during service. The Finance Department has instructed all departments and offices to follow the updated process. Employees will receive cash benefits for a maximum of 300 days of earned leave known as EL. Even if an employee has accumulated more than 300 days of leave the payment will be limited to this cap. The move aims to improve transparency and planning. DPC Held for Promotion of Nine SPS Officers to IPS A Departmental Promotion Committee meeting has been conducted to consider the promotion of nine State Police Service officers to the Indian Police Service. The meeting was held in the presence of Union Public Service Commission member Sanjay Verma and officials from the Home Department. The proposed names have reportedly received approval during the selection process. However the promotions of Rajesh Mishra and Sandeep Mishra may face delays due to pending issues. Two other officers are also believed to be outside the current selection list. Final approval is expected after completion of formal procedures. FIR Registered Against Sailana MLA and Supporters Police in Ratlam have registered an FIR against Sailana MLA Kamleshwar Dodiyar and three others for allegedly staging a protest without official permission. Among those named is District Panchayat Vice-Chairman Keshu Ninama. The group had reportedly organized a demonstration outside the collectorate and sat on the city four-lane road causing disruption. Authorities claim that the protest violated administrative regulations. Supporters of the MLA argue that the demonstration was organized to raise public concerns. MP Student Preparing for NEET Dies by Suicide A 19-year-old NEET aspirant from Madhya Pradesh died by suicide in Haldwani Uttarakhand. The student identified as Anjali Jatav was living in a paying guest accommodation while preparing for medical entrance examinations. According to police she was found hanging in her room. The incident occurred in the Mukhani police station area. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances behind the tragedy. Family members have been informed and counseling experts continue to emphasize the importance of mental health support for students facing academic pressure. Fake Liquor Factory Busted in Indore The Excise Department has uncovered a large illegal liquor manufacturing operation in Indores upscale Tulsi Nagar area. After three days of surveillance officials raided a three-story building and discovered an unauthorized liquor production unit. During the operation authorities seized 144 bulk liters of liquor counterfeit labels fake holograms packaging materials and equipment used in manufacturing. Investigators believe the network was producing and packaging fake liquor for illegal distribution. The department has launched a detailed investigation to identify those involved and determine the scale of the operation. Monsoon Intensifies in MP Entry Banned at Risky Tourist Spots Monsoon activity is increasing across Madhya Pradesh bringing rainfall to several districts. In Shajapur an elderly man died after being struck by lightning. Authorities in Indore have banned entry to dangerous tourist spots until August 22 to prevent accidents during heavy rains. The weather department has issued rain and thunderstorm alerts for 46 districts. Officials expect the monsoon to cover the entire state within the next two to three days. Earlier the monsoon officially entered 15 districts after good rainfall was recorded in Chhindwara and nearby areas. Moist winds from the southwest are helping the monsoon advance rapidly across the state.
