Tragedy at Bargi Dam: 9 dead in MP cruise disaster A tragic accident has shocked Madhya Pradesh after a tourist cruise sank in Bargi Dam on Thursday evening around 5 PM. The हादसा happened due to a sudden strong storm. So far 9 bodies have been recovered while 28 people have been rescued safely. Officials say 4 people including 3 children are still missing. At the time of the accident around 43 to 47 tourists were onboard but tickets were issued to only 29 people. This raises serious safety concerns. Rescue teams are continuing their search operation and the administration is closely monitoring the situation. CM Mohan Yadav meets grieving families in Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav visited Jabalpur to meet the families affected by the cruise tragedy. He personally reached the house of victim Neetu Soni to express condolences. Emotional scenes were seen as family members broke down in tears. The Chief Minister also became emotional while consoling the grieving families. He hugged children and placed a comforting hand on the heads of daughters who lost their loved ones. The atmosphere was deeply painful and silent filled with grief. The CM assured full support from the government and promised strict action after investigation. Collector takes strict action: engineer and officials suspended In a strong administrative move Rituraj Singh the Collector of Dewas district took immediate action during a public hearing in Pipri village. Villagers complained about severe water shortage and illegal land encroachments. After hearing the complaints the Collector directly questioned officials and found negligence. He ordered the suspension of a Public Health Engineering sub-engineer and two patwaris on the spot. The Collector clearly told the engineer “You are suspended go home.” This strict step has sent a strong message about accountability. Locals appreciated the quick response and hope for faster solutions to their problems. Congress leader Bharat Pandey arrested in forest attack case Congress leader Bharat Milan Pandey has been arrested from Jabalpur in connection with a serious case from Panna district. He is accused of attacking a forest department team and obstructing government work. Reports say he was involved in a physical fight with forest officials and even looted a tractor during the incident. Police took him into custody on Thursday and further investigation is ongoing. This incident has raised concerns over law and order especially regarding attacks on government officials. Authorities say strict legal action will be taken in the matter. Storm warning for Jabalpur and Katni heat continues in MP Mixed weather conditions are being seen across Madhya Pradesh. While some districts experienced light rain heat remains intense in many areas. Weather department has issued a storm alert for Jabalpur and Katni. Cities like Khandwa recorded the highest temperature at 43.1°C followed by Narsinghpur at 42.2°C and Ratlam at 41.2°C. Other districts like Tikamgarh Betul and Guna also reported temperatures above 40°C. Light rainfall was seen in Jabalpur and Damoh giving slight relief. Officials have advised people to stay alert due to sudden weather changes including storms and heatwaves and take necessary precautions.
