MP Cabinet Approves 6 New Medical Colleges The Madhya Pradesh cabinet has approved proposals for six new medical colleges to improve healthcare and medical education in the state. The meeting also decided to continue Public Works Department projects and social welfare schemes. Important irrigation projects in Sagar were also discussed. Before the meeting Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that this week will focus on women empowerment. From April 16 the Women’s Reservation Bill will be presented in Parliament. The state is celebrating “Nari Shakti Vandan Fortnight” till April 25. Various programs including conferences and awareness marches will be organized across the state. Rajendra Bharti Claims ₹70 Crore Offer Former MLA Rajendra Bharti made serious allegations during a press conference in Bhopal. He claimed that he was offered ₹70 crore to join another political party and withdraw his cases. Bharti said he refused the offer and was later threatened. He also accused senior leaders of being involved in a political conspiracy against him. According to Bharti a central minister’s aide met him in Delhi in May 2024 and conveyed the proposal. He stated that he was promised a high position if he joined the ruling party. The allegations have created a political stir in the state. ₹758 Crore Approved for Tiger Corridor Road Union Minister Nitin Gadkari announced ₹758 crore for upgrading a 22-kilometer tiger corridor road in Madhya Pradesh. The road part of National Highway 46 between Itarsi and Betul will be expanded into a four-lane highway. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of a three-day agriculture festival in Raisen. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan was also present at the event. The project aims to improve road connectivity and ensure safer travel through forest areas. It is also expected to support economic growth and tourism in the region. BJP Youth Leader Accused of Assault A BJP local leader in Dhar district has accused party youth wing leader Jaysurya and another person of assault and threats. The complaint was made by Mandal President Asha Sharma from Sardarpur area. She alleged that she and her husband were beaten abused and threatened with death. According to her the accused tried to pressure and intimidate them. The incident has created tension within the party at the local level. Authorities are expected to investigate the matter. No official response from the accused leaders has been reported yet. MP Government Takes ₹1800 Crore Loan The Madhya Pradesh government has taken a loan of ₹1800 crore within just 15 days of the new financial year. The loan was raised through the Reserve Bank of India in two parts—₹1200 crore and ₹600 crore. The repayment is scheduled for April 15. Earlier before the financial year ended on March 31 the government had already taken a loan of ₹18700 crore in one month. The rising borrowing has raised concerns about the state’s financial condition. Officials say the funds are needed for development and welfare activities. Less Rain Expected in MP This Year The India Meteorological Department has predicted below-normal rainfall in Madhya Pradesh this year. According to the forecast most districts will receive only 90 to 95 percent of average rainfall. The total rainfall is expected to be around 30 to 32 inches which is lower than the normal average of 37.3 inches. Cities like Indore and Gwalior may face drought-like conditions if rainfall decreases further. Experts say this could affect agriculture and water supply in the region. Farmers have been advised to prepare for possible challenges ahead.
