Women Congress Protest Against Minister Vijay Shah Women Congress workers staged a strong protest in Bhopal against Tribal Affairs Minister Vijay Shah. The protest was led by Madhya Pradesh Women Congress President Reena Bourasi. The anger is over Vijay Shah’s statement about checking beneficiaries of the Ladli Behna Scheme. Women Congress workers marched from the Pradesh Congress office towards the minister’s residence. Police stopped them at Red Cross Square by putting up barricades. During this there was pushing and scuffling between police and women workers. The protesters said the statement insulted women and questioned their dignity. They demanded an apology from the minister and warned that protests will continue if action is not taken. CM Mohan Yadav Praises Role of IAS Officers Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated a three-day IAS Service Meet in Bhopal on Friday. IAS officers from across Madhya Pradesh are attending the event. Addressing the officers the Chief Minister said IAS officers play a very big role in making democracy successful. He said officers implement public welfare decisions even in difficult situations. CM Yadav added that after independence there were doubts about democracy’s success but IAS officers proved those doubts wrong. He praised their courage honesty and commitment to public service. The CM said strong administration is the backbone of good governance and officers must always work in the interest of the people. Digvijaya Singh Raises Toll Issue on Incomplete Highway The issue of toll collection on an incomplete national highway in Madhya Pradesh reached Parliament. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh raised the matter of Betul–Bhopal National Highway-46. He questioned Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari over toll being charged despite poor road conditions. Police Station In-Charge Found Dead in Dhar Hotel A shocking incident has come to light from Dhar district. The body of a police station in-charge was found in a hotel near Mohan Talkies area on Friday. The officer had come from Khargone to Dhar for Urs duty. Police rushed to the spot after receiving information and sealed the area. The deceased was identified as Karan Singh Rawat a police officer from Khargone district. He had earlier served as station in-charge of Barud police station and was currently line-attached. He was staying in the hotel since December 13. Police have started an investigation to find out the cause of death. Family Performs Last Rites of Daughter Alive In a disturbing social incident from Vidisha a family performed the funeral of their own daughter while she is still alive. The 23-year-old woman Savita left home with her lover on December 13. Despite searching everywhere the family could not trace her. They later filed a missing complaint at the local police station. Deeply hurt and angry the family decided to treat her as dead. They made an effigy took out a funeral procession and performed last rites at the cremation ground. Dense Fog Covers Many Districts of Madhya Pradesh Cold weather conditions continue to intensify across Madhya Pradesh. On Friday morning dense fog covered many districts leading to very low visibility. Gwalior has been experiencing heavy fog since Thursday night and even by 9 am on Friday visibility did not improve. Due to fog people faced problems in road travel and morning routines. The maximum temperature in Gwalior was recorded at 24 degrees Celsius making the cold feel sharper.
