Congress and BJP workers came face to face leading to loud sloganeering pushing and chaos on the streets. Police had to call in additional force to control the situation. Mild force was used as Congress leaders were moved into police vehicles and taken away from the area. A five-member Congress inquiry committee had reached Bhagirathpura to meet affected residents when BJP workers protested shouting slogans like “outsiders go back.” Police detained former minister Sajjan Singh Verma MLAs and senior Congress leaders to prevent further escalation and restore law and order. MP to Celebrate 2026 as Agriculture Year Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the year 2026 will be celebrated as the “Agriculture Year” in Madhya Pradesh. He said the state has diverse climate zones good irrigation facilities and a strong road network which should be fully used to increase farmers’ income. The government aims to promote employment through agriculture and allied activities. While reviewing departmental action plans at the Chief Minister’s residence Dr. Yadav stressed coordinated efforts by agriculture-related departments. The main goal is to achieve the vision of “Prosperous Farmers Prosperous State.” Special programs and planning will focus on productivity innovation and long-term benefits for farmers across the state. Pradeep Mishra Compares RSS to Lord Shiva At a social harmony meeting organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh in Bhopal RSS chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat spoke about the importance of social unity. He said harmony is not a new idea but part of India’s social nature. The event saw participation from representatives of 16 districts of the Central Bharat region. During the program storyteller Pandit Pradeep Mishra compared the RSS to Lord Shiva saying just as Shiva drinks poison to protect the world the RSS absorbs criticism to protect the nation. Chandrashekhar Azad Demands Caste Census Naginas MP and Azad Samaj Party chief Chandrashekhar Azad strongly demanded a caste-based census while addressing workers in Bhopal. He questioned why a process like SIR can be completed in a month but a caste census cannot be conducted. Azad claimed that if such a census is done SC ST OBC and minority populations would be around 90 percent. He accused governments of being anti-backward classes saying backward leaders are made chief ministers under pressure but not given real respect. He also referred to alleged caste-based abuse faced by leaders in Madhya Pradesh calling it proof of discrimination in politics. Bhopal Metro Struggles to Get Passengers Bhopal Metro is facing low passenger turnout just weeks after starting operations. Due to fewer commuters the Metro Corporation has reduced the number of trips and changed operating timings within just 14 days. Now metro services from AIIMS station will begin at noon instead of 9 a.m. and the last train will run at 7:30 p.m. The metro was inaugurated on December 20 by Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. Commercial services began the next day. Officials hope passenger numbers will increase gradually as people become more familiar with the new transport system. Doctor Murdered in Broad Daylight in Jabalpur A shocking murder case has come to light from Jabalpur district where a young doctor was killed in broad daylight. The incident took place in Guwara village. The victim 27-year-old Dr. Mahendra Sahu was traveling in his brother’s Scorpio car when attackers surrounded the vehicle. He was dragged out and stabbed repeatedly in the neck with knives leading to his death on the spot. After the crime the accused fled the scene. CCTV footage showing the attackers escaping has surfaced. Police have started an investigation and launched a search operation to identify and arrest those involved in the brutal killing. Cold Wave to Grip MP for 15 Days in January Madhya Pradesh is witnessing one of its longest fog spells this winter season. On Saturday dense fog covered Bhopal throughout the day affecting visibility and daily life. Several other parts of the state also saw similar conditions. In at least 11 cities daytime temperatures remained below 20 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department a cold wave is expected to continue for about 15 days in January. There are also chances of rainfall in Bhopal and Gwalior. Weather officials have advised people to take precautions especially during early morning and night hours as cold conditions may impact health and transport.
