CM Transfers ₹238 Crore Relief to Farmers Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has transferred over ₹238 crore directly to the bank accounts of more than three lakh farmers. These farmers belong to six districts affected by weather damage in Baroda and Sheopur regions. Addressing the farmers the Chief Minister said that the government stands firmly with every food provider of the state. He assured that the promises made for farmers’ welfare will be fulfilled on priority. The relief amount is expected to support affected farmers in recovering from crop loss and stabilizing their livelihood. IAS Santosh Verma’s Remarks Spark Major Protest in Bhopal Protests intensified in Bhopal on Thursday over IAS officer Santosh Verma’s alleged objectionable comment. Hundreds of members of the Brahmin community gathered at Roshanpura Square shouting slogans and demanding Verma’s dismissal. Heavy police security was deployed as protesters burned an effigy of Verma. They alleged that this was not his first controversial remark against a particular community and claimed no strict action had been taken earlier. As tensions rose police detained several community leaders. Protesters warned that the agitation would continue until strong action is taken against the officer. Woman Dies After Standing Two Days in Fertilizer Queue in Guna A tragic incident occurred in Bamor region of Guna district where Bhuriya Bai who had been standing in a fertilizer queue for two days fell seriously ill and later died in the hospital. According to the collector she was brought in critical condition due to high sugar levels and extreme exhaustion. Following the instructions of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia the family will receive ₹2 lakh financial assistance under the Sambal Scheme and Red Cross Fund. The administration has directed officials to improve fertilizer distribution arrangements to prevent such incidents in the future. PR Department Staff Strike Over New Appointment A major protest was seen in the Public Relations Department after the sudden appointment of State Administrative Service officer Ganesh Kumar Jaiswal as Additional Director. As the working day began employees gathered outside the office and started a work-stop strike. They said that the PR Department works to communicate government schemes to the public while Jaiswal comes from the Revenue Department and has no experience in public relations. Calling the appointment “totally unacceptable” employees demanded immediate reconsideration. Work in the department remained halted for hours as the strike continued. Youth Congress Tries to Gherao CEO Office Clash With Police Newly appointed Madhya Pradesh Youth Congress president Yash GhanGhoriya led a strong protest against SIR outside the Chief Electoral Officer’s office. The rally was stopped by police near the Vyapam Square with barricades. When workers tried to move ahead a heated clash broke out. Police used water cannons and mild force to disperse the crowd. Buses were also brought in to detain protesters but many workers climbed on top of the buses creating a risk of the vehicle overturning. Senior leaders including Jeetu Patwari Udaybhanu Chib and Umang Singhar were also present. GhanGhoriya said the protest was against “vote theft” and to protect democracy. Minister Reviews VIT University Incident; Action Assured Sehore district in-charge minister Krishna Gaur held a detailed discussion with the district administration regarding the recent incident at VIT University. She said the incident was unfortunate and assured strict action against those responsible. The minister directed officials to fully investigate the matter and prioritize the health of students. Food and drinking water quality in the campus will be checked thoroughly. She emphasized that ensuring safety and hygiene for students is the top responsibility and the administration will monitor the situation closely. NSUI Protest Disrupts Rani Durgavati University Meeting A meeting of the Executive Council at Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur was disrupted on Thursday due to a strong NSUI protest. While officials and teachers were holding the session inside NSUI workers were protesting outside by blowing trumpets. Police reached the spot immediately and stopped them from entering the meeting hall. NSUI leaders alleged that under Vice-Chancellor Rajesh Verma’s tenure studies and basic facilities for students have suffered badly. When the workers tried to break in police blocked them forcefully. Later the protestors staged a sit-in outside the IQAC room continuing their protest for hours. NHRC Issues Notice to Railway Board Over Halal-Only Food Complaint The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has issued a notice to the Railway Board after receiving a complaint from a Bhopal-based social worker. The complaint states that only halal meat is being served on trains while Hindu and Sikh passengers are not provided food according to their religious practices. It also says that the traditional meat business of Dalit communities is not included in the railway supply system affecting their right to livelihood. The NHRC has asked the Railway Board to submit a report and detailed response within two weeks regarding the matter. Cold Nights Warm Days in Madhya Pradesh Madhya Pradesh is witnessing a mixed weather pattern this week. Nights are turning colder in many districts while daytime temperatures remain slightly warmer than normal. Cities like Bhopal Indore Gwalior and Jabalpur recorded a drop in night temperature making early mornings foggy and chilly. According to the weather department no major cold wave is expected in the next two days but mild winter conditions will continue. Light winds in northern parts may bring more cold at night. People are advised to carry warm clothes during morning and late evening hours.
