MP signs tourism MoU with France A key step in boosting cultural ties—Madhya Pradesh and France signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding in tourism and culture. The Lokayukta trapped him following a complaint by Ghanashyam Rathore who said his house mutation file wasn’t moving without grease money. Despite applying four months ago Rathore saw no progress until he turned to the anti-corruption bureau. Now with evidence in hand Lokayukta officials are preparing further legal action. Farmer assaults revenue official during land survey Violence erupted during land measurement in Bhopal. Patwari Pankaj Prajapati was reportedly attacked while executing a court-ordered land survey. As he began work local farmer Hakim Singh Gurjar arrived on the scene and allegedly slapped and assaulted the officer protesting the measurement. Cong MLA’s college loses recognition Congress MLA Arif Masood faced a major setback when his educational institution Indira Priyadarshini College in Bhopal had its interim recognition revoked by the Higher Education Department. Brother of accused joins prayer for slain husband An emotional scene unfolded in Ujjain. At the holy Siddhwat Ghat rituals were held to pray for the soul of Raja Raghuvanshi who was murdered in Meghalaya. Present were his brothers Vipin and Sachin Raghuvanshi—and also Govind brother of accused Sonam Raghuvanshi. Sonam allegedly plotted Raja’s killing. Three workers electrocuted in Narsinghpur A shocking accident in Gadarwara Narsinghpur. Three workers died on the spot and three others were badly burnt after a metal ladder they were carrying touched a high-tension power line. The crew was working near the gate of Shri Palace Marriage Garden when the ladder struck the overhead cable. Locals rushed to help but it was too late for the three. The injured are now battling for their lives in hospital. Authorities have launched an investigation into safety lapses. Married woman kidnapped raped in Guna In a horrific case from Guna district a 20-year-old married woman was kidnapped and raped after being mistakenly abducted. The accused had intended to pick up her sister-in-law but took the wrong woman. Police moved swiftly and arrested eight people in connection with the crime. The survivor is receiving medical support and counselling. Authorities say more arrests could follow as the investigation continues. 17 Districts Alerted for Heavy Rain and Storms The Meteorological Department has forecasted the arrival of the monsoon in Madhya Pradesh within the next 48 hours. Between June 15 and 16 several areas of the state are expected to experience rain accompanied by thunderstorms. The department has issued alerts for heavy rain and storms in 17 districts while 14 districts are under heatwave warnings due to rising temperatures. Yesterday many cities recorded maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius with Khajuraho hitting a high of 45.8 degrees. Other cities like Indore Ujjain Bhopal and Gwalior also faced intense heat. The weather Department further warned that heavy rainfall is expected in the southern districts over the next two days which could bring much-needed relief to farmers and residents.
